Fight Back News Service is circulating the following statement from the International League of Peoples’ Struggle.
The International League of Peoples’ Struggle vehemently condemns the blatant invasion of Venezuela by US military forces that bombed military and civilian targets and culminated in the illegal capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. This act is the latest in a months-long campaign by the Trump regime to blockade and wage war on the Venezuelan people in order to seize their sovereign land and resources and enact regime change in Venezuela that will bow to US economic interest.
The Freedom Road Socialist Organization condemns the brazen and unlawful U.S. military assault on Venezuela and the kidnapping of President Maduro. This is an act of war under the ridiculous pretense of “fighting drug trafficking.” A look at “friends of the U.S.” in the region, and their activities, proves this has nothing to do with drugs. It is about oil. And it's about beating Maduro’s government and the people of Venezuela into submission for the insatiable greed of Trump and his Wall Street gang of backers.
The new year arrives with sharpening crises and struggle. A year into his second term and Trump is back more brazen and unhinged than ever. He and his cabal of billionaire bigots have rolled out an agenda that is violent and reactionary: this is most clearly seen in sending masked and often unmarked ICE, Border Patrol and other Homeland Security to terrorize mainly Chicano and Latino communities. From attacks on labor to dragging LGBTQ and reproductive rights backwards, from cutting climate protections to “unleashing” National Guard troops into cities with Democratic mayors, Trump is trying to push the country backwards on many fronts.
The U.S. has pledged the largest ever arms sale to Taiwan, worth $11.1 billion. This destabilizing and dangerous move represents an attempt to block the inevitable reunification between the People’s Republic of China with the province of Taiwan. Once again, the U.S. is willing to sink resources for wars across the globe while things at home continue to deteriorate.
The Freedom Road Socialist Organization vehemently condemns the Trump Administration’s illegal seizure of an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela. Trump has violated yet another international law by having U.S. forces seize a defenseless commercial vessel. As nationalized oil, it belongs to the people of Venezuela. We denounce the U.S. imperialists’ use of violence to steal what they want. In this case, it looks like U.S. Coast Guard piracy.
Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) was created to honor Rita Hester, a black trans woman killed by an unknown attacker after being stabbed 20 times. It’s become a national holiday for the entire LGBTQ community and all who stand in solidarity with the struggle for trans liberation.
The following paper by Mick Kelly, the Political Secretary of Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO), was presented at the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) International Theoretical Conference on Fascism in the 21st Century in the Imperialist Heartlands. Sydney Loving of the Central Committee of FRSO also participated in the conference, which took place November 28-29, in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
Fight Back News Service is circulating the following statement from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
“We affirm our absolute rejection of the UN Security Council’s decision on the Gaza Strip, considering it an attempt to impose guardianship through the so-called “Peace Council,” which has been granted transitional and sovereign authorities that reproduce the occupation in a new form, sideline the Palestinian role, and strip the UN of its mandate.
Assata Shakur was a fighter for freedom and an icon of the Black liberation movement. She came of age during the struggles of the 1960s and 70s, and everything that was good and powerful about that time, Assata embodied. The deep understanding that a better world is possible, and most importantly, the conviction to never give up. Never surrender.
The temperature is rising by the day and the air is thick with a dangerous new electricity. The magnified polarization of this country points to the unraveling of a system built on inequality, repression and an empire whose decline is accelerating. Flashpoint events like Kirk’s killing are not isolated incidents, they’re symptoms of a terminal illness.
Class is back in session: for many, the Fall 2025 semester has begun. Students are coming back to a fraught situation. Trump has done his best to degrade public education. He aims to eliminate his political competition, who draw much support from forces on college campuses. What he presents as an alternative to education is no alternative at all: for-profit schools that teach lies from the “Make America Great Again” platform, owned by his peers and too expensive for most to attend.
An opportunity to build a vast revolutionary movement has arrived. People are writing to us from every kind of town, looking for an organization that can wrest power away from Trump and Wall Street. Trump is a professional liar, and one powerful lie is that he works for the people of rural America. But one look at the reality of rural towns, at the lives of low-wage workers and debt-ridden farmers, disproves this.
The African American Commission of the Freedom Road Socialist Organization condemns the occupation of Washington DC by Trump in his deployment of the National Guard and federal police to DC’s streets. Trump, at the press conference announcing his decision Monday, evoked Section 740 of the DC Home Rule Act, which allows for the federal government to take direct control of the DC Metro Police. Trump in his press conference talked about giving DC police the power to do “whatever the hell they want.”
The Freedom Road Socialist Organization denounces U.S. President Donald Trump’s most recent attack on Venezuela’s President Nicholas Maduro. It is yet another outrageous U.S. attempt to criminalize Venezuela and its leaders. U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi declared the U.S. was offering $50 million for information leading to the arrest of the Venezuelan president. We say President Maduro is worth much, much more!
On July 29, the people achieved a great victory: the two bogus federal charges on Los Angeles immigrant rights activist Alejandro Orellana were dropped!
The Freedom Road Socialist Organization hails everyone who took up the national call to mobilize for Alex's defense and every one of his supporters. Not only did we stand with Los Angeles in the uprising against ICE raids, but we held our ground when they came for the organizers. Defending our activists and comrades is an outstanding achievement, and everyone who took part should be proud.
Fight Back New Service is circulating the following statement from the Legalization for All (L4A) Network.
The Legalization for All (L4A) Network is calling on all affiliated immigrant rights organizations and supporters to mobilize an action in support of Alejandro Orellana on June 27th, or participate in a national call-in day against U.S. Attorney Bilal “Bill” Essayli.
Fight Back News Service is circulating the following statement from National Students for a Democratic Society (SDS).
On June 12, 2025, the FBI raided the home of Alejandro “Alex” Orellana in Los Angeles and arrested him on bogus charges. Alex is a leading member of Centro CSO, a Chicano community organization that opposes deportations and defends immigrant rights. He is being charged with “conspiracy to commit civil disorder” because of his participation in protests against ICE in LA. These charges are politically motivated and could carry a sentence of up to 5 years in prison.
