Milwaukee, WI – The Milwaukee Police Department, the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) and other law enforcement departments in the surrounding suburbs are notorious for their treatment of Milwaukee’s African-American residents, who make up nearly 40% of the population. This fact has been confirmed by this last week, where two people lost their lives due to negligence and criminal misuse of deadly force.

Despite having reserved the rotunda inside the building, the press conference was forced to be held outside.

The protesters occupied each of the four street corners and took to chanting before running through a short lineup of speakers.

Over 50 museum workers and supporters, including museum members, donors and elected officials, joined the picket outside the popular natural history museum in downtown Milwaukee.

The action was led by the Coalition to March on the Democratic National Convention, a growing group of nearly 20 organizations that has come together to march and protest at the Democratic Convention which will be in Milwaukee this summer.
