El país sudamericano ha estado involucrado en esta guerra civil por décadas, pero hasta los tiempos recientes, el público norteamericano no le prestaba atención. En el verano del 2000, el Congreso de los EEUU aprobó 1.3 billones de dólares, parte del “Plan Colombia” del Presidente colombiano Andrés Pastrana. Su objetivo es combatir la guerra civil bajo la bandera del combate a las drogas. Esta ayuda enviará tanto armas y equipaje militares, tanto como personales del Ejercito de los EU para entrenar a los soldados colombianos.

Minneapolis, MN – It was standing room only, as more than people 55 came together here, May 6, to celebrate International Workers Day. Leaders from labor, the fight for Native land at Highway 55, welfare rights, anti-war, and student movements spoke of their struggles and victories over the past year. Some traveled over 100 miles, from Duluth MN, to attend.

- The Iraq Peace Action Coalition (IPAC) has plans for a public protest of U.S. policy in Iraq. The protest will mark the 9-year anniversary of the imposition of economic sanctions against Iraq.

Minneapolis, MN - The Iraq Peace Action Coalition (IPAC) has announced a picket line and bannering to show opposition to U.S. policy towards Iraq. The protest will be held on February 11, at 4:30 p.m., at the Federal Courts Building in downtown Minneapolis.

The U.S. Bolivarian Circles and the Colombia Action Network are organizing a joint contingent for the September 24th, 2005, March on Washington to end the U.S. occupation of Iraq.  We will announce our rallying point at a later date, but we promise to be visible on the streets in front of the White House!
