Grand Rapids, MI – Between 500 and 600 people protested President Trump's Muslim travel ban at Gerald R. Ford International Airport in West Michigan. The protesters stretched for a quarter mile along the busy entrance road to the airport at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29.

The Anti-War Committee has initiated an emergency response protest in response to President Donald Trump’s anti-Muslim and anti-immigrant executive orders. The demonstration will take place Tuesday, Jan. 31, 4:30 p.m., at the Federal Building, 300 S 4th Street, Minneapolis.

Minneapolis protest against Trump

The election of Donald Trump has unleashed a storm of righteous anger, as hundreds of thousands have taken to the streets in cities across the country, blocking major highways, surrounding Trump-owned office buildings, and upending ‘business as usual.’ Among a broad section of people who cherish peace, progress and equality there is a deep revulsion that grows every time Trump opens his mouth or tweets another piece of his reactionary agenda.

Los Angeles, CA – On Jan. 20, Students for a Democratic Society at Pasadena City College (SDS PCC) took to the streets to join in a pro-immigrant march against Trump. The March Against Trump was organized by Centro CSO, along with SDS PCC, to stand in with the community of Boyle Heights. Holding a red SDS flag, they sent a clear message: when you dare to struggle you dare to win.

2000 people gathered here, Jan. 26, to protest Trump and the Republican agenda. Protesters gathered at Thomas Paine Plaza to rally against Trump’s recent decisions and executive orders. These include continued construction of the Dakota Access and Keystone XL pipelines. Other issues of the day are the freezing of aid to all overseas organizations providing access to and promotion of safe abortions, and the recent signing of an executive order to build a wall between the U.S. and Mexico.

Los Angeles May Day march demands legalization for all.

San José, CA – On Jan. 25, President Trump signed an executive order ordering the construction of a wall between the U.S. and Mexico, an increase in the number of Border Patrol staffing, and stepping up federal immigration authorities’ use of local police. This is the first executive order on immigration by Trump, to be followed by others in the near future.

Marching against Trump in Salt Lake City.

Salt Lake City, UT- On Jan. 19, 50 University of Utah students walked out of their classes at 11:50 a.m. to protest the Trump inauguration. The students marched despite a university-wide memo stating they will “not be excused.” Led by Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), they gathered at Library Plaza to speak out against Trump’s bigoted agenda and demand a sanctuary campus for undocumented immigrant students.

President Trump issued memorandums Jan. 24 to push ahead construction of the Keystone XL and Dakota Access Pipeline. The memorandums direct the Army Corp of Engineers to expedite the issuance of an easement for crossing Lake Oahe and to rescind the Notice of intent to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement.
