New York, NY – At least 900 people gathered in Times Square, May 19, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Nakba. The rally was called for by NY4Palestine, a coalition of organizations that stand for the liberation of historic Palestine.

New York, NY – Over 200 people gathered in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn for a press conference, rally and march, May 14, in response to moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, the historical capital of Palestine. It also marked 70 years since the Nakba, or the catastrophe, where Palestinians were driven from their homes. The protest stood in solidarity with the Great Return March, and took place right after the massacre of Palestinian protesters in Gaza.

New York, NY – On April 26, a tour called “Stop the Killings Speaking Tour: The People’s Caravan for Peace and Justice in the Philippines” made a stop in New York City. The tour, hosted by International Committee for Human Rights in the Philippines (ICHRP US) and the MALAYA Movement, exposes the gross human rights violations that occur daily in the Philippines under the U.S.-backed Rodrigo Duterte regime. The tour is comprised of human rights experts and survivors of acts of repression. These speakers will visit seven major U.S. cities from coast to coast.

New York, NY – On April 26, at 1 p.m., people gathered outside the New York City's Parks and Recreation Department (NYCPRD) building to hold a press conference and protest the NYCPRD's decision to move the annual International Workers Day protest to the North End of Union Square Park.

New York, NY – Over 30 people gathered for an emergency rally held for Jerome Succor Aba, a Filipino peace activist who was denied entry to the U.S. and sent back to Manila after being tortured at the San Francisco airport. Aba was scheduled to speak on the “Stop the Killings” speaking tour to expose the Duterte government and its U.S. backers. The rally took place in front of the Department of Homeland Security.

New York, NY – Around 30 protesters gathered in Washington Square Park, April 20 to stand in solidarity with Palestinians protesting on the border of Gaza.

New York, NY – Over 1000 people gathered at Herald Square on Sunday, April 15, to rally against U.S. wars abroad and at home. The event was part of a national call for Spring Action, where anti-war groups came together to speak out against Trump’s attacks, as well as U.S. imperialism. The protest itself happened just days after Trump launched more missiles at Syria.

New York, NY – Around 50 people gathered in Union Square April 13 to stand in solidarity with the third week of Palestinians protesting on the border of Gaza.

New York, NY – On April 5, about 2000 people marched in the streets of Brooklyn neighborhood of Crown Heights in response to the NYPD’s murder of Saheed Vassell.

New York, NY – Around 50 protesters gathered in Washington Square Park, March 30, to respond to the killing of at least 17 Palestinians killed and many others wounded by Israeli forces on that day. The massacre took place during the Great March of Return in Gaza – a protest that is projected to last 45 days, leading up to Nakba Day, May 15.

New York, NY – Over 1000 people gathered at Columbus Circle in New York City on March 28, to protest the police killing of Stephon Clark. Clark was a 22-year-old unarmed Black man who was shot 20 times and killed by police officers in Sacramento, California.

New York, NY – On March 10 approximately 60 people gathered on the corner at the entrance to Penn Station for an International Working Women’s Day rally.

New York, NY – On Feb. 11, a group of over 100 people gathered in front of the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) for a vigil in support of hunger strikers, who were among those hit by a mass eviction carried out by landlord Joseph Betesh.

New York, NY – About 40 activists gathered outside the Israeli Consulate on the afternoon of Feb. 18, as a part of the national day of action in solidarity with the Palestinian girl, Ahed Tamimi.

New York, NY – 50 activists gathered for an emergency rally for Philippine activist for Rafael Baylosis in front of the Philippine consulate here, Feb. 5. Baylosis is the labor leader and consultant for the National Democratic Front of the Philippines, who was arrested on Jan. 31 on trumped-up charges. The arrest is in violation of the Joint Agreement on Safety and Immunity Guarantees (JASIG) and Comprehensive Agreement on Respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (CAHR-IHL), which the Philippine government is bound to by being a signatory of both.
