Denver, CO – Denver Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) and Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO) held a gathering in front of the Colorado capitol building on May 1 to celebrate International Workers Day. The Front Range Socialist Party and John Brown Gun Club held a food and clothing drive at the same location.

Participants ranged up to 100 people at times. Members of FRSO handed out fliers and copies of Fight Back! while conversing with attendees. The events lasted approximately three hours.

Jarrid Carroll-Frey of the FRSO said of the event, “This day is partially a celebration and partially a protest. We want to celebrate the working class and its achievements throughout history, but also protest against the current mistreatment of the working class and fight for better treatment.”
