Minneapolis, MN – A week-old protest demanding justice for Jamar Clark, who was slain by Minneapolis police, was attacked by a small group of white supremacists at 10:45 p.m. the night of Nov. 23. The racists approached the occupation at the Fourth Precinct police station as they have done for the past few nights, being disruptive and shouting racial slurs. A group of protesters were marshalling the racists away from the main protest when the white supremacists opened fire and shot five people.
Kohler, WI – Thousands from around the state joined the Kohler picket line this weekend, Nov. 21-22, ending the first week of a strike by 2100 Kohler employees.
Minneapolis, MN – Black Lives Matter Minneapolis has uncovered video of Jamar Clark after he was shot in the head by Minneapolis Police. The Black Lives Matter Minneapolis Facebook post notes, “At the 29-second mark you can see Jamar’s body appears to be lifeless on the ground with his hands in handcuffs, just as numerous witnesses have reported from day one.”
Minneapolis, MN – On Nov. 21, more than 200 labor union leaders, members and supporters rallied to demand justice for Jamar Clark at the Minneapolis Police Fourth Precinct, where Black Lives Matter Minneapolis has held a constant presence all week.
Minneapolis, MN – Hundreds of protesters are standing strong at the Fourth Precinct Minneapolis police station on the night of Nov. 18, pressing the demand for justice for Jamar Clark. Police have fired a rubber bullet, known as a marking round, into the crowd and have been spraying people with pepper spray.
Minneapolis, MN – More than 350 workers on the Twin Cities and Duluth campuses of the University of Minnesota braved the rain, Nov. 17, to rally and picket for raises and respect for unionized staff at the U of MN. They were joined by university students, faculty and community members in calling for an end to the two university system – one where a few administrators at the top are getting rich, while the majority of frontline workers are falling further and further behind.
Kohler, WI – Over 1000 Kohler workers and supporters kicked off their first full day on strike, Nov. 16, marching around the company facility and reportedly delaying non-union employees. The last strike at Kohler was more than 30 years ago.
Minneapolis, MN – About 50 people were arrested here, the night of Nov. 16, in a dramatic protest blocking Interstate 94, as the fight to get justice for Jamar Clark escalated. Clark, who is Black, was killed by Minneapolis police. Witnesses agree that he was handcuffed at the time of his murder.

Milwaukee, WI – About 1200 protesters took to the streets, Nov.10, outside of the Milwaukee Theater where the Republican National Debate was being held. A coalition of activist organizations including Anti-War Committee (AWC), Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), Youth Empowered in the Struggle (YES) and Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) demanded “Dump Trump! No more wars! Stop attacks on workers, women, immigrants, Black, brown and LGBTQ people! End U.S. aid to Israel!”

Minneapolis, MN – Responding to a campaign of condemnations from University of Minnesota officialdom, the Anti-War Committee (AWC) issued a statement Nov. 10 standing by the actions of protesters at last week’s Law School lecture by Moshe Halbertal, who they call a “war crimes apologist.” Criticisms were hurled at the group after protesters denied Halbertal a platform by interrupting his presentation some two dozen times, with facts about Israeli atrocities, Halbertal’s public record in defense of IDF actions and demands that the university honor the international boycott of Israel.
Los Angeles, CA – Braving wind and rain, activists and immigrants stood in front of the Metropolitan Detention Center on Nov 2. They were there to demand an end to the detention of Central American children who are currently locked up in multiple facilities across the country.
Minneapolis, MN – More than 20 immigrant rights protesters marched into Wells Fargo Bank on Nicollet Avenue and Lake Street on Nov. 7. They held signs inside the bank then presented their demands to a regional bank manager. They demanded that Wells Fargo divest all money from the Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) and GEO Group.
Lebanon’s official National News Agency report is reporting, Nov. 8, that three members of an Israeli spy ring that operated in the country’s south have been placed under arrest.
Tampa, FL – On Nov. 6, Raices en Tampa rallied on a busy street corner in solidarity with the immigrant families being held, without due process, in a Texas detention center. The Legalization for All Network called for a national day of action demanding the U.S. government release the children, end family detention and halt deportations.
Tucson, AZ – To the thunderous chants of “Obama, Obama free the kids now!” and “No mas detenciones no mas deportaciones, legalización para los 11 millones!” a group of over 30 students, activists, parents and community members gathered outside of the Federal building, Nov. 5 in downtown Tucson. They were protesting the indefinite detention of the thousands of children and mothers who are currently incarcerated in the for-profit prisons located in Dilley and Karnes, Texas.
Minneapolis, MN – On Nov. 3, a panel of three speakers at the University of Minnesota analyzed the phenomenon of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and how his anti-immigrant rhetoric affects the struggle for immigrant rights.
Sacramento, CA – Leaders of the California Faculty Association (CFA) announced Nov. 4 that 94% of the members who voted have authorized a strike. “Together, and in solidarity with students, staff and allies, we are powerful. We are ready to act if necessary and for as long as it takes,” said CFA President Jennifer Eagan.
Minneapolis, MN – Students and community members gathered on the Northrop Mall at the University of Minnesota on an unseasonably warm day, Nov. 2, to take some swings at three homemade piñatas that bore a strong resemblance to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Members of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and Communist Youth of Greece hung two giant banners on the Acropolis Oct. 31 to express solidarity with refuges and condemning the European Union and NATO for their role in creating the crisis. The banners read, “The EU and NATO are turning the Mediterranean into a sea of the dead. Stop this crime now. Solidarity and immediate support measures for the refugees.”
