Fullerton, CA – The morning of April 2, family members of Pedro Garcia rallied outside Fullerton City Hall and marched to the nearby police department to demand justice for their son, cousin and nephew. 19-year-old Garcia was killed by Fullerton Police Department (FPD) officers, who shot him almost 30 times after they arrived at the family home on March 15.
Santa Ana, CA – On February 3, roughly 1000 people took to the streets to fight Trump’s racist agenda, gathering in front of the Ronald Reagan Federal Building. Immigrant families and their allies marched around the city from morning to night, demanding an end to deportations, waving Mexican and other Latin American flags, and sending Santa Ana police scrambling to redirect traffic.
Long Beach, CA – On September 28, a crowd of about 20 people, including faculty, students and community members gathered near the Walter Pyramid at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) while the school started an event to celebrate its 75th anniversary. The protesters chanted “land back!” and made chalk art to advocate for the protection of Puvungna, a 22-acre site located on campus, sacred to the Acjachemen and Tongva peoples of California.
