Tallahassee celebrates 100-year anniversary of October Revolution
Tallahassee, FL – On Nov. 7, members of the Tallahassee community gathered for an event at the Plant Community Arts Center to celebrate the October Revolution, which took place exactly 100 years earlier on Nov. 7, 1917.
Regina Joseph, a member of the Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO), hosted the event and led the singing of revolutionary songs including The Internationale and Solidarity Forever. FRSO member Zachary Schultz gave a presentation on the history of the October Revolution and showed some documentary footage from the Russian Revolution and civil war.
“The October Revolution continues to inspire our revolutionary work today with two main lessons for the revolution in the U.S. – the importance of national liberation, and the need for new Communist Party,” said Schultz.
