Minneapolis protest slams unjust guilty verdict in case of Rasmea Odeh
Demands freedom for Palestinian American leader
Minneapolis, MN – About 40 people rallied here in the midst of a major snowstorm Nov. 10 to demand the immediate release of Palestinian American leader Rasmea Odeh. Odeh was found guilty of a trumped-up immigration charge in Detroit that same day and Federal Judge Gershwin Drain revoked her bail. She will be jailed until her sentencing on March 15, 2015.
Speakers at the protest condemned the unjust verdict in the case. Sophia Hansen-Day of the Anti-War Committee attended Odeh’s trial and spoke about the courage and determination Odeh displayed.
The protest was organized by the Coalition for Palestinian Rights, the Anti-War Committee and the Minnesota Committee to Stop FBI Repression.
