Minneapolis, MN – Jan. 10 is the date set for the new trial of Palestinian American leader Rasmea Odeh. The new trial comes after a successful appeal to Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and legal wrangling before Judge Drain of Detroit’s federal court.

In the upcoming trial, Odeh and her legal team are getting set to battle politically-motivated, trumped-up immigration charges. Odeh will be facing jail time and deportation if convicted.

Over the next month Odeh’s supporters will demand that the prosecutor U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade drop the charges.

Jess Sundin, of the Committee to Stop FBI Repression states, “Now is the time to turn up the heat. We demand justice for Rasmea and we want the charges against her dropped. We are ready for a trial in Detroit on Jan. 10 and urge all supporters of Rasmea to build the defense efforts and to make plans to attend.”
