Minneapolis, MN – From across the Midwest, supporters of longtime Palestinian American leader Rasmea Odeh are mobilizing for a Detroit rally that will coincide with her June 13 status hearing in federal court. The status hearing will take place in chambers, meaning the public cannot attend. The rally will take place at 10:00 a.m. at the U.S. Courthouse, located at 231 W. Lafayette Boulevard in downtown Detroit.

New York, NY – Supporters of Palestinian American leader Rasmea Odeh will be rallying here, June 10, 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., at G4S Secure Solutions (19 W 44th St.), to demand justice in her case. Odeh, an icon in the Palestinian community, was convicted on a politically-motivated immigration charge in 2014, and sentenced to 18 months in prison and deportation.

Students at Texas event demanding justice for Rasmea Odeh.

Lufkin, TX – Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) in Lufkin organized a forum, April 20, to inform the community about the case of Palestinian activist, Rasmea Odeh. Odeh is a 69-year-old Palestinian American activist who was brutalized and tortured by the Israeli government and is now being targeted by the U.S. because of her activism.

Chicago, IL – On Monday, June 13, Rasmea Odeh will appear with her attorneys before Judge Gershwin Drain for a status conference at the federal courthouse in Detroit, Michigan. Supporters will travel to Detroit as well, as they have done for all the previous court dates, to urge for a new trial for this Palestinian American icon who was convicted of a politically-motivated immigration charge in 2014, and sentenced to 18 months in prison and deportation last year.

Houston, TX – Over 25 people gathered at the University of Houston, March 30, to attend a talk on the Palestinian activist Rasmea Odeh. Odeh is a 68 year old Palestinian American leader who was brutally tortured by the Israeli government in 1969, and is being targeted by the U.S. government for her political activism. She is a respected and influential activist in the Palestinian liberation movement and the government is using a bogus charge of immigration fraud in an attempt to silence her. Since she was arrested in 2013, activists all over the country have organized for justice for Rasmea Odeh.

Houston Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) banner in solidarity with Rasmea

Houston, TX – Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) are organizing events in solidarity with Rasmea Odeh this week at University of Houston. Rasmea Odeh is a 68-year-old Palestinian American woman, tortured and imprisoned by the Israeli military occupation in 1969. For the past 20 years, she lived in Chicago, serving the Arab American and American Muslim community. She is beloved by many and won multiple awards for her work with women and children. The U.S. government is targeting Odeh for political reasons. She is being charged with minor immigration paper work offences, but the trumped-up case involves the judge and prosecutor talking on and on about terrorism.

Chicago, IL – Some of the strongest women fighters in the working class and oppressed nationalities’ movements in Chicago gathered March 8 to celebrate International Women’s Day. Four women were honored with the first Rasmea Odeh Awards, in an event organized by Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO), and endorsed by the Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression, AnakBayan, Anti-War Committee, and the U.S. Palestinian Community Network. More than 100 people attended the celebration.
