Minneapolis, MN – On July 8, Palestine solidarity protesters will gather in Loring Park, at 4:30 p.m., and march through Uptown Minneapolis to mark the one-year anniversary of Israel’s 51-day bombing campaign against Gaza. They will demand an end to U.S. aid to Israel.
Miami, FL- A spirited group of activists gathered outside of the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Miami to protest the performance of Idan Raichel. Raichel is an outspoken proponent of the Israeli Defense Force and of Israel’s occupation of Palestine, and has performed in illegal Israeli settlements and for the Israeli Defense Force (IDF).
Arlington, TX – The University of Texas at Arlington’s newly-formed Students for Democratic Society (SDS) and Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) held a Solidarity March for Palestine at the campus, Sept. 4, to bring attention to the Israeli genocide in Gaza and the whole of Palestine. About 50 people participated.
Columbia Heights, MN – 175 people gathered here Sept. 5, in the heart of the Twin Cities Arab community, for a rally and march in solidarity with Palestine, organized by the Twin Cities-based Anti-War Committee (AWC). Just a week after a ceasefire agreement ended Israel’s 51-day assault on Gaza, community members demanded that Israel be held accountable for war crimes and that there be an end to U.S. aid to Israel. They also called for a renewed commitment to a Boycott Divest Sanctions (BDS) movement that can help bring an end to Israeli occupation and apartheid.
Tampa, FL – Two dozen protesters from around Florida protested the delivery of Israeli goods to the Port of Tampa on Aug. 30. The huge container ship named the Zim Alabama transports Israeli-made goods for distribution in the southeast U.S. Due to arrive on a Wednesday night, the Zim Alabama was delayed, docking in the early morning on Saturday, Aug. 30, instead. Protesters were ready and picketed at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, staying for several hours in the hot Florida sun.
