Washington, DC – The Syrian Arab News Agency is reporting, March 17, that “Syrian air defense downed one of four Israeli warplanes that violated the Syrian airspace and targeted a military site in the eastern countryside of Homs.”

The Syrian Arab News Agency is reporting, Nov. 9, that Israeli war planes attacked military sites in the Quneitra countryside, destroying one cannon and damaging another.
Washington D.C. – According to an Aug. 2 news report from the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), “Seven civilians were killed and 25 others were injured due to terrorists attacks with rocket shells on residential neighborhoods in Aleppo, including one attack which used shells containing toxic gas.”

Outcome of the five-year war in Syria is critically important to resistance project
On Sept. 30, 2015, Russian planes began conducting airstrikes against rebel targets in Syria at the request of President Bashar al-Assad. This military intervention signaled a new chapter in the five-year war in Syria, which has pitted the country's national democratic government against foreign-backed rebel groups. Launched for the stated purpose of defeating the growing Islamic State (IS) insurgency, Russia's operations have also targeted U.S.-backed reactionary rebel groups.

Salt Lake City, UT – 25 people rallied at the federal building here, Nov. 5, to demand “U.S. out of Syria and the Middle East.” Anti-war, student and labor activists gathered to stand with Syrian refugees fleeing U.S. wars and military intervention.
Houston, TX – Students and anti-war activists at the University of Houston rallied in solidarity with Syrian refugees on Dec. 4. They also protested the U.S. war in Syria that is driving millions of Syrians out of their country. Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott recently said in a letter to President Obama, “Texas will not accept any refugees from Syria.” Governor Abbott filed a lawsuit against the federal government in an effort to prevent Syrian refugees from resettling in Texas.
Grand Rapids, MI – Twenty people gathered at a busy West Michigan street corner holding signs that read, “Stop war, not refugees!” and “Refugees are welcome here,” featuring an image of the Statue of Liberty. They gathered in response to Michigan Governor Rick Snyder’s anti-refugee comments.
Dallas, TX – About 40 protesters gathered at the Grassy Knoll near downtown here, Nov. 21, to call out Texas Governor Greg Abbott's anti-refugee statements. Abbott recently declared that Texas would not accept Syrian refugees.
Tucson, AZ – 50 Tucsonans issued a warm welcome to any future Syrian refugees. The Nov. 19 demonstration came in response to the Islamophobic statement made by Republic Governor Doug Ducey. Ducey basically accused all refugees, specifically those from Syria, as being connected to, if not actual, ‘terrorists.’ Protesters held signs that read: “Shame on Ducey,” and “AZ loves refugees.”
