Fight Back News Service is circulating statement from Standing Committee of Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO) to the Workers World Party National Conference. The statement was delivered to the conference on Nov. 18 by Tom Burke, the Organizational Secretary of FRSO.

New York, New York – On Nov. 16, approximately 30 activists picketed to demand justice for the hundreds of activists, campesinos and community organizers who have been murdered by the Colombian government. In October alone there have been 23 deaths.

New York, NY – Over 100 people gathered here on Nov. 7 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution. The event was in honor of the win by the Bolsheviks in 1917, in which the working class seized power from the capitalists and overthrew the tsarist monarchy to form the Soviet Union.

New York, NY – Over 100 people gathered in front of the Israeli Embassy and Consulate, Nov. 2, to protest 100 years since the signing of the Balfour Declaration. The Balfour Declaration was a statement made by the British government in support of a “national home for the Jewish people” in Palestine, paving the way for the creation of Israel and the destruction of Palestine.

This paper prepared collectively by the central leadership of Freedom Road Socialist Organization, and was presented by leading member of FRSO, Frank Chapman, at the Centennial Commemoration of the October Revolution, held in New York City, July 2017. New York, NY – Around 150 people gathered in Herald Square, Oct. 7, to protest war at home and abroad on the 16th anniversary of the invasion of Afghanistan.

New York, NY — On Sept. 12, around 100 activists gathered in Columbus Circle in solidarity with the Durham, North Carolina activists who a month before tore down a statue of a Confederate soldier.

NYC, NY – On April 25, at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City, a group of student activists shut down a speech by former Obama Middle East adviser Rob Malley.

New York, New York – About 50 protesters gathered at the U.S. Military Recruiting Center at the heart of Times Square, April 14. The protest was an emergency response to Donald Trump’s escalation of the war on war on Afghanistan. On April 13, a GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb (MOAB), nicknamed the “mother of all bombs,” was dropped on what is purported to be “ISIS targets” in Afghanistan. This is a continuation of a conflict started by the U.S. and NATO 16 years ago, the longest imperialist war the U.S. has ever been in. The dropping of the MOAB on the Achin district has death counts estimated to reach up to 94 people, and a blast radius estimated at one mile.

On Feb. 15 protesters gathered on the corner of 5th and 57th, across the street from Trump Towers. The protest was called because earlier that day President Trump and Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had just finished meeting in Washington DC, where they colluded against the Palestinians.
