The International League of Peoples’ Struggle strongly condemns the resumption of U.S.– Zionist bombings against Iran. This is yet another blatant aggression by U.S. imperialism and its Zionist attack dogs against an independent nation in West Asia that has stood against their rule for 47 years.

In the morning of February 28, “Israeli” airstrikes hit military targets and civilian areas of Tehran, destroying infrastructure and injuring civilians. This was then followed by more airstrikes in the regions of Qom, Khorammabad, Esfahan, Tabriz, Kermanshah, Ilam, Lorestan, and Karaj. Iranian news agencies also experienced massive cyber attacks. US news reported that dozens of strikes by US aircraft were carried out from bases around West Asia and from an aircraft carrier.

Iran launched a counter-attack of missiles against the Zionist entity as well as U.S. bases in Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, naming the operation “True Promise 4” after the previous 3 missile operations it launched against the entity since the launching of the Palestinian Al Aqsa Flood operation.

Israel Katz of the Zionist Security Ministry announced that this was a joint operation between “Israel” and the U.S. and that the operation was planned for months and the launch date was decided weeks ago. This comes as the U.S. and Iran were engaged in diplomatic talks over Iran’s civilian nuclear program and the lifting of U.S. economic sanctions, showing that the US used the talks as an act of deception and never intended to come to a diplomatic agreement with Iran. Just as in June 2025, the U.S. proved again that it is an untrustworthy actor seeking only to maintain its global hegemony by whatever forms of aggression it deems necessary. The US has also been spreading false information about Iran in the public media, claiming without evidence during the U.S. State of the Union address that Iran possessed missiles capable of hitting the continental United States and repeated many times the lie that Iran seeks to build a nuclear weapon, a fact the Iranian government has denied countless times. The similarities between this attack and the lies leading up to the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq are many, with recent U.S. military build-up in West Asia being the largest ever since 2003.

This attack comes at a crucial time, as the Zionists continue to carry out their project of genocide and ecocide against the people of Palestine. Their attack on Iran was initially named “Shield of the Judea” as a means to whip up religious hysteria to instigate further hatred and warmongering within their fascist mass base, but was quickly renamed to not anger the people of the Arab monarchies, thus avoiding uprisings in the kingdoms that pledged their loyalties to the Zionist entity, betraying their people for their own slice of regional power. Meanwhile, the U.S. seeks to build its farcical “Board of Peace” on the ruins of Gaza as an alternative to the UN system on the myth of Trump “ending wars” that he himself started, including against Iran. The move also is a response to rival development projects by China and Russia in the region that the US seeks to disrupt. Meanwhile, the forces of the Axis of Resistance in Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, and throughout the region have been regaining their strength and have vowed to fight back against continued US and Zionist aggression. This joint U.S.– Zionist attack on Iran is a desperate move after months of hybrid warfare against Iran, their number one rival in the region, to attempt to remove one of the largest barriers to full imperialist and Zionist control over West Asia.

The ILPS stands with the people of Iran as they resist this blatant imperialist aggression. The League calls on its members to take to the streets in the millions to denounce this U.S.-led war and to express their solidarity with Iran through continued actions, education, propaganda, and other forms of support for the Iranian people’s just fight against imperialist intervention and in defense of their sovereignty.

Fight Back News Service is circulating the International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS) statement on the occasion of the February 8 birthday of Chairperson Emeritus Jose Maria Sison.

The International League of Peoples’ Struggle commemorates the birthday of its Chairman Emeritus, Professor Jose Maria Sison. His guidance since the founding of the League has proved invaluable to the revolutionary forces of many countries and to the strengthening of the broad anti-imperialist united front across the globe.

Jose Maria Sison, or “Ka Joma”, dedicated his life ever since youth towards serving the people. Despite growing up in a wealthy landlord family in the Philippines, his work in the militant student and peasant movement to oppose feudalism and U.S. imperialism in the Philippines led him towards the revolutionary path to fight alongside the toiling and oppressed masses. In 1964, he was one of the founders of Kabataang Makabayan (KM), or Patriotic Youth, and soon after led the reformation of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) in 1968, becoming its first Chairman.

Under his leadership, the CPP founded the New People’s Army (NPA) in 1969 and was the leading force in establishing the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) in 1973, that served as a strong basis to wage a people’s war against U.S. imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucrat capitalism. The revolutionary movement in the Philippines flourished and quickly expanded, posing an existential threat to the US-Marcos I fascist regime, so much so that Martial Law was instated in 1972. Despite these unspeakably repressive conditions, the movement grew to even greater heights through the leadership of the CPP.

Ka Joma, from 1977-‘86, faced long years of imprisonment and torture under the US-Marcos I regime, but his commitment to proletarian revolution never wavered, never acceding to collaborate or even compromise with fascism. Upon being released from prison after the People Power Revolution in 1986, he again continued to serve his role as a revolutionary to widely propagate the fight for national democracy and socialism, embarking on a global lecture tour. His rigorous analysis and critique of the root problems of Philippine society led to his passport being cancelled by President Aquino in 1988, subsequently forcing him into exile in the Netherlands.

For the decades to follow, Ka Joma continued his commitment to fight for his homeland and against imperialism while overseas. He continued to write endlessly on problems of imperialism, reaction, and its solution: revolution. He served as Chief Political Consultant for the NDFP in the midst of peace talks between the revolutionary movement and the reactionary Philippine government to address the root causes of armed struggle.

With the fall of the Soviet Union, revolutionary movements across the world had entered a strategic retreat at the turn of the century. but his keen analysis and foresight was instrumental in the founding of the League. Among his many contributions to the struggles of the masses, globally a lasting contribution was that he garnered movements once again to unite to fight against imperialist domination.

Apart from steering the League to be one of the biggest anti-imperialist, anti-fascist movements, globally he was a beacon for providing revolutionary guidance to the people’s’ movements. In the midst of great disorientation in the International Communist movement, Ka Joma kept high the torch of proletarian revolution in his many writings on the world situation and the upsurge of peoples’ resistance movements against imperialism that were emerging. He served on the preparatory committee that led to the foundation of the International League of Peoples’ Struggle in 2001. As Joma said in his opening address to the ILPS Founding Assembly, “The League answers the urgent need of the broad masses of the people for international solidarity and a rallying force in the struggle for national independence, democracy, and socialism. It is their weapon against the intensifying exploitation and oppression unleashed by free market globalization and the new world disorder under the hegemony of US imperialism. The contradictions are sharpening between the imperialist powers and the oppressed nations and peoples, those among the imperialist powers, and those between capital and labor in imperialist countries. Under these conditions, the revolutionary mass movement can advance throughout the world.” These words, spoken 25 years ago, ring true as if they were spoken today.

After serving as Chairman of the ILPS since the 2nd International Assembly until the 6th International Assembly, he served as its Chairman Emeritus until his death. His leadership helped see the League grow to nearly 400 member organizations across every region of the world. He held high the banner of anti-imperialism unwaveringly until the end. In his final report on the world situation to the ILPS International Coordinating Committee in 2022, just months before his death, “The conditions are exceedingly favorable for the advance of the anti-imperialist and democratic mass struggles in all types of countries, be they imperialist or imperialist-dominated. They arise as a result of the intensifying major contradictions in the world capitalist system. Once more they lay the ground for great disorder and turbulence in this system and the resurgence of the world proletarian socialist revolution.”

The ILPS pays tribute to Ka Joma for his tireless service to the people of the Philippines and the world. As the League commemorates its 25th anniversary through a year-long campaign of political education, propaganda, and campaign festivals to celebrate the legacy of the ILPS in aiding the toiling and oppressed masses’ fight across the world, we remember the undying words and spirit of Ka Joma. Let us honor his revolutionary spirit by following his example of relying unconditionally on the masses and fighting with them for a better world, for an end to the evils of imperialism, fascism, and all reaction.

Seattle, WA — Over 200 protesters gathered in front of the Henry M. Jackson Federal Building on January 16 to demand freedom for Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores as well as an end to U.S. attacks on Venezuela.

A coalition of progressive and anti-war organizations, including Seattle Against War and the International League of People’s Struggle, organized the program, which was hosted by the organization Troublemakers as part of their long-running Federal Building Fridays.

Jeremiah Baxter, speaking for Seattle Against War, pointed out that “even if we accept the empire’s propaganda and lies, claiming that Maduro is a dictator and a dozen other claims we’ve heard before, the massacre on January 3 was still a massacre and an absolute violation of Venezuela’s sovereignty. The kidnapping of Maduro and Cilia was and is still an absolute violation of international law.”

Branch Chair of the Seattle Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression (SAARPR) Jonathan Toledo stated, “Whether it is in Venezuela, Mexico, or the Chicano Nation of Aztlán, the imperialist United States is trying to use military force to exert racist and political repression to subjugate the nation’s right to determine its own decisions, the right of the working class to be able to organize and have fair working conditions, and to extract and steal resources.”

The speaker from the International League of People’s Struggle said, “Another invasion means more profit, it means more resources for the billionaires, not for the people. We have seen this throughout history, war was never about defending the country. It was about the oil, the mining projects, the land, the profit that can be made off the war.”

“The only people that profit, the only people that enjoy war, the only people who win at war are the billionaires,” said Mike Fraser, a local musician who led the crowd in a chorus of All You Fascists Bound to Lose in between speeches.

The program closed out with speakers urging attendees to take the next step and get organized. “Until our demands are met, we will continue escalating,” said Rae Lee, chair of Seattle Against War. “Whatever skills you bring, I promise you there is a home for you in the movement. Join an organization, and discover that when we take collective action, the helplessness goes away. The people, united, will never be defeated!”

Baxter echoed this call in his speech: “Showing up is step one. Step two is getting organized. Trump and his regime — the real dictators — they know that we have the power. They know that people power is stronger than any weapon they have. That’s why they use every trick in their bag of tricks to try to shut us down. That’s why they sic the National Guard on cities that don’t comply. That’s why Trump is threatening to invoke the insurrection act to put down the protests in Minnesota. That’s why Trump’s regime is throwing Mahmoud Khalil back in jail for speaking out. They want to make examples of us before we become so strong that there’s nothing they can do to stop us.”

“They are desperate,” Baxter concluded. “They are afraid because they know we can win. I believe that we will win.”

Seattle, WA – Approximately 120 protesters rallied at Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle on January 3 to condemn the U.S. military’s illegal bombings of Venezuela and the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro.

The rally program included speeches from Seattle Against War (SAW), the International League of People’s Struggles (ILPS) Seattle/Tacoma, Veterans for Peace (VFP) Daniel Ellsberg chapter, 350 Seattle, Capybara Colectiva, BAYAN Washington, bil-Yad, the National Lawyers’ Guild, and the Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO).

Rae Lee from Seattle Against War opened the program condemning the bombings and kidnapping of Maduro as criminal acts. They went on to describe the similarities between the U.S. war on Iraq and the attacks on Palestinian people, both motivated by oil. Lee described their recent visit to Venezuela, where they visited communities governed by locally elected councils and exercising autonomy in local governance, a far cry from the U.S. media description of a dictatorship. Lee then led the crowd in chants calling for “No U.S. war on Venezuela!” and to “Free President Maduro!”

A member of bil-Yad, a local Palestinian solidarity organization told the crowd, “Imperialist powers demand that the oppressed hand over their land and resources, and that the oppressed should just accept whatever crumbs are left over after the oil and resources are taken, after the environment is destroyed, and after the people are reduced to landless and impoverished masses.”

“It’s not about drugs, it’s about the oil! U.S. off Venezuelan soil!” chanted Mary Paterson from 350 Seattle, who condemned the attacks as a clear imperialist power play for U.S. interests in Venezuelan oil. She highlighted the need for environmental-focused organizations to oppose U.S. imperialist interests and stand in solidarity with the people of Venezuela, Palestine and the Philippines.

Representing the National Lawyers Guild, Marti Schmidt stated, “U.S. violations affect the entire international legal system, undermining respect for the U.S., causing fear and chaos, and spawning disinclination to rely on law.”

A Venezuelan immigrant member of Comunidad Sin Fronteras and Capybara Colectiva said, “The people who are best suited to control the future of Venezuela are the Venezuelan people themselves!” She went on to condemn the longstanding U.S. sanctions against Venezuela that has caused thousands of Venezuelan immigrants to migrate to Washington state where they’ve been forced at times to live in horrific and inhumane conditions made worse by the cuts to social security.

“This is the most unpopular war in U.S. history; over 70% of Americans do not want this,” said Izzy McCabe, a member of the Freedom Road Socialist Organization, “But we live in a dying empire, ruled by decaying pedophiles who march step over step towards their own graves, and as they realize their reign is coming to an end they flail, they kick, they scream in a desperate attempt to take the whole world with them.”

Describing having met community leaders in communes on her recent trip to Venezuela, McCabe said, “they have created real people power, participatory democracy, social programs, communes, neighborhood assemblies. In Venezuela the people rule, and for that the United States has declared them an existential threat.”

McCabe continued “When we fight we are not just fighting against a single war, we are fighting for the environment, we are fighting for freedom for immigrants, we are fighting for the national liberation of Black and Chicano Americans, we are fighting for indigenous sovereignty. And in this fight, it is important that we unite around action. In the Freedom Road Socialist Organization our strategy is to build the broadest possible united front against our common enemy.”

The International League of Peoples’ Struggle vehemently condemns the blatant invasion of Venezuela by US military forces that bombed military and civilian targets and culminated in the illegal capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. This act is the latest in a months-long campaign by the Trump regime to blockade and wage war on the Venezuelan people in order to seize their sovereign land and resources and enact regime change in Venezuela that will bow to US economic interest.

It is unclear as of this writing how many deaths and injuries were caused by the US airstrikes, but what is clear is the complete disregard for civilian lives by the US. This utterly exposes their false justification of acting on behalf of “peace and freedom” for the people of Venezuela. Previous US airstrikes off the coasts of Venezuela and Colombia have already killed over 100 people and damaged the economic livelihood of Venezuela’s fishing sector.

This aggression did not start with Trump’s escalation over the past few months but instead follows years of systematic aggression by the previous Trump, Biden, Obama, and Bush regimes since Venezuela declared its complete independence from US economic dominance of its oil sector and elected Hugo Chavez as President. The capture of Maduro to stand trial within a US court for so-called “Narco Terrorism” mirrors the same fate of Panamanian President Manuel Noriega who, after years of ruling under US patronage, was overthrown and captured during the 1989 US invasion of Panama and tried in the US. This latest act is in line with Trump’s declaration of his “New Monroe Doctrine” that is merely a resurrected name for the same US imperialist strategy to openly confront its economic rivals like China and Russia and maintain its position as number one imperialist power in the world.

The US has repeatedly made clear through its actions that it is the number one violator of international law and most dangerous imperialist in the world today, with the capture of Maduro being just the latest example. This follows the US and Zionist war against Iran, the complete US support for the genocidal Zionist onslaught against Palestine and all of West Asia, recent airstrikes impacting civilian areas of Nigeria, and many more examples of US complete disregard for international law and unbridled violence to desperately hold onto its crumbling position of world imperialist hegemon.

The people of Venezuela are rallying to defend their sovereignty. The masses have taken to the streets en masse and armed themselves to boldly stand up against foreign imperialist aggression to defend their country. The Venezuela government has mobilized to defend the people and respond to the US aggression. The people and government of Venezuela have called on the people of the world to stand in solidarity with their fight to defend their land and the victories of the Bolivarian Revolution. ILPS calls on its members to answer this call and take to the streets and outside of US embassies to express mass indignation against US imperialist aggression. The League stands with the people of Venezuela and the wider region of Latin America and the Caribbean in the defense of sovereignty, economic livelihood, and the struggle for just and lasting peace.

We hail with revolutionary fervor the long-overdue release of Georges Ibrahim Abdallah, the indomitable Lebanese resistance fighter who, after 41 years of unjust imprisonment in the dungeons of the French state, walks free at last. His liberation is not a gift from the oppressors – it is a victory wrestled from the jaws of imperialist vengeance through decades of struggle, solidarity, and resistance.

A stalwart champion of the Palestinian cause, Abdallah engaged in the struggle as a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and the Lebanese Revolutionary Armed Factions (LRAF).

As confirmed by Al Akhbar, the Paris Court of Appeal finally concluded Abdallah’s legal ordeal on July 18, 2025, clearing the way for his release on July 25—more than four decades after the French state, in collusion with U.S. and Zionist interests, sought to bury him alive for his role in the anti-imperialist and Palestinian liberation struggle.

Georges Abdallah is not merely a former political prisoner—he is a living symbol of revolutionary resilience, unyielding patience, and principled commitment to the people’s right to freedom, democracy, dignity, and national independence. Despite being eligible for parole since 1999, Abdallah refused to renounce his convictions. He did not beg for mercy—he stood firm, proud, and uncompromising, even when the prison walls sought to crush his spirit.

His release is not a closure—it is a clarion call. It ignites the flame of struggle against imperialism, Zionism, and all reactionary forces. It affirms the justness of armed and unarmed resistance against occupation, colonization, and exploitation. It is a tribute to the martyrs and comrades who gave their lives for liberation and a reminder that the struggle continues until all chains are broken.

We welcome Georges Abdallah’s return to Lebanon with clenched fists and open arms. The sea of red flags, Palestinian banners, and revolutionary songs that greeted him are testament to the enduring unity of the peoples’ struggles across borders. His freedom belongs not only to Lebanon, but to Palestine, to the oppressed masses of the Arab world, and to all those who resist imperialist domination.

As we celebrate this moment, we issue a renewed and militant call to action: Free all political prisoners! Intensify the global resistance! Fight imperialism in all its forms! Let the legacy of Georges Abdallah inspire new generations to rise, organize, and resist without compromise.

The International League of Peoples’ Struggle joins Palestinians all over the world in commemorating the 1948 Nakba, or catastrophe, which dispossessed, displaced, and murdered hundreds of thousands of people in the name of an imperialist and Zionist project—the manufacture of “Israel “as a “Jewish State” in Palestine in order to establish a Western imperialist outpost in West Asia and North Africa.

Nakba Continues

The 78th anniversary of the Nakba marks a significant moment in the ongoing struggle for Palestinian freedom against Zionist genocidal occupation and imperialist war on the peoples of West Asia. The Nakba has become a defining feature of Palestinian and Arab unity and struggle for national liberation and self-determination. The resistance to the Nakba, alongside the 2023 October 7 Al Aqsa Flood, is emblematic of resistance to colonialism, occupation, and displacement.

On this anniversary of the Nakba and the US-Israeli Zionist occupation of Palestine, our hearts are heavy with the continued suffering, loss of life, and devastation. Palestinians in Gaza who are descendants of refugees uprooted during the Nakba continue to endure heinous acts of genocide. This moment also comes as Palestinians in the West Bank – particularly in the refugee camps of Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nablus – are under assault by the occupation regime, with tens of thousands displaced and hundreds of homes destroyed. This is an attempt to undermine Palestinians’ inviolable right to return to their homes by liquidating the physical structure of the refugee camps. Of course, it also comes hand in hand with the vicious repression of Palestinians in occupied Palestine ‘48, while Palestinians in exile and diaspora continue to struggle for their right to return home to Palestine, denied for over 77 years. From the refugee camps in the countries surrounding Palestine to the Palestinian communities in every continent of the world, the right to return, to resist and to live free of Zionism and imperialism lives on everywhere. The Al-Aqsa Flood is also a flood of return, of liberation, and of the struggle to undo the Nakba. Palestinians are organizing for their liberation, while Arabs and internationalists stand in unwavering solidarity for their right to self-determination and freedom.

Gaza continues to endure enormous challenges amid an active genocide, including restrictions and a blockade in place since 2007, which have had a significant impact on the territory’s economy and infrastructure. It continues to confront shortages in essential goods such as food, water, and medicine, resulting in a terrible humanitarian situation. It has seen repeated cycles of violence, including military operations, rocket attacks, and carpet bombing of churches, mosques, residences, hospitals, schools, and refugee camps, even during periods of ceasefire and peace talks in the past. The current bombardment of Gaza serves as a stark reminder of the dehumanizing violence and systemic oppression that Palestinians continue to face.

Up with the Global Resistance

Solidarity with the Palestinian people’s resistance for national and social liberation is more critical than ever. We stand in solidarity with the Palestinian Resistance, the people of Gaza, and the regional Axis of Resistance in Lebanon, Yemen, Iran, and Iraq in fighting imperialism and Zionism by any means necessary, and for Palestine’s freedom from the river to the sea.

The demonization of the countries in the Axis of Resistance covers up the impact of US sanctions on these nations for defending their sovereignty and national integrity against US imperialist intervention and endless wars. Despite stringent US sanctions that have a crippling effect on its economy and severe economic hardships for its citizens, Iran remains steadfast in providing support to end the brutal Zionist-Israeli attacks on Palestinians. Iraq’s resistance to and defense of Palestine stems from the US invasion in 2003, which the US defended with a brutal campaign against its own false claims of WMDs and the “war on terror.” Yemen’s Ansar Allah has demonstrated steadfast solidarity with Palestine by stopping the transport of bombs and war equipment from imperialist countries to Israeli Occupation Forces, which would have killed thousands more of the displaced Palestinians. Strongly supporting Palestinian freedom, Hezbollah began as a resistance movement against Israeli occupation and has been instrumental in protecting Lebanon’s sovereignty from both local corruption and foreign dominance.

Terrorist tagging of the Axis of Resistance by US-led western imperialism must be opposed at a time when governments in the Arab region have adopted the policy of normalization amidst genocide and imperialist plunder, no war for oil! Terrorist designation of organizations and activists who stand in firm solidarity with Palestine is a fascist mechanism to criminalize dissent and gain consent for genocide.

We salute the governments and peoples of Cuba, Venezuela, Colombia and South Africa for their unwavering support to the Palestinian cause and principled rejection of US imperialism and Zionism. We stand in solidarity with anti-Zionist Jewish organizers and communities, who have historically and continue to say, “Not in our name!” to reject the colonial and genocidal Zionist project — the “Israeli State.”

The courageous actions in the western imperialist core of student encampments organized to pressure universities to divest from companies that profit from the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories and military actions in the region, as well as direct action against weapons production and delivery to Israel, are vital in exposing and opposing the US-led western imperialism’s role in arming and politically shielding Israel—thus enabling the ongoing genocide— and expressing solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for freedom and self-determination.

ILPS enjoins all organizations under the League to amplify Palestinian voices and stories throughout media platforms, schools, churches and faith institutions, rural and urban communities, agricultural spaces, and workplaces. We call on comrades in the League and their allied organizations in their respective regions and countries to tirelessly raise awareness, support organizations providing humanitarian aid and medical assistance to Palestinians, carry out in-depth investigations into their governments’ and other institutions’ relationships with the “Israeli” entity and demand divestment from them, support the cultural boycott of “Israel”, organize massive protests in support of the struggle for national and social liberation and right of return to Palestine, and build an international anti-imperialist, anti-fascist people’s movement for just and lasting peace.

Washington, D.C. — On Thursday, May 1, hundreds gathered in Freedom Plaza near the White House in celebration of May Day, International Workers Day. The event, hosted by Metro DC DSA and sponsored by Freedom Road Socialist Organization DC (FRSO DC), among others, called for “dignity, power, and a future for the many.”

The crowd included many organizations and contingents, such as the anti-Imperialist contingent formed by FRSO DC, the DC Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression (DCAARPR), International League of Peoples Struggles Baltimore DMV (ILPS), Anakbayan DC, Anakbayan Montgomery County, and Migrante DMV. Their signs featured slogans such as “End U.S. militarization now!” “Fight for worker’s and immigrants’ rights!” and “Down with billionaires, we need socialism!”

“The people here today show the clear rising tide of workers who want a better future,” said Iain McNeely of FRSO DC, “When we fight, we win, and every day more and more people are answering the call and getting organized.”

The demonstration featured speakers voicing strong opposition to the Trump administration and his racist deportation policies, with chants of “The people, united, will never be defeated!” and “When immigrant rights are under attack, what do we do? Stand up, fight back!”

“The Philippians observe May Day as the real international workers day ” said Jhong Cruz, an organizer with Migrante, “we are fighting for a better society overall, with the working class at the core, and we want to fight for a society where many Filipinos like myself don't need to migrate to other countries in search of work.”

“There’s a willingness among people to explore more ideas that people maybe would not have thought of before because of the gross atrocities we are witnessing every day now,” said Christina Murdoch with DCAARPR, “We are unwilling to submit to pressure, and our instinct to seize this wave of struggle is necessary to take our movement forward towards a better future!”

Washington, D.C. — On April 30, over 30 Filipino and community activists gathered outside of the Embassy of the Philippines to celebrate International Workers Day and demand that the Philippine government stand up for Filipino workers in the US.

The action, which was one of many coordinated actions that day at Philippine consulates around the U.S., began with a small group of activists entering the embassy and attempting to deliver an open letter to Ambassador Jose Manuel Romualdez. When embassy staff refused to hear them out, the activists tried at the embassy annex across the street. Here, too, they were denied by staff, who shut the gate in their faces.

By this time a crowd of roughly 30 people had amassed outside the embassy, chanting “Romualdez! Do your job! Or! Step! Down!”

“The Philippine government has always bowed to the U.S.,” a member of Anakbayan DC, said in their speech. “The people in power have no problem ignoring the wellbeing of Filipinos if it means lining their pockets and making profit. The Filipino people are forced to migrate to the U.S. because of bureaucratic greed.”

A speaker from MIGRANTE noted, “Almost 10,000 Filipinos at this point leave the country to escape poverty and to make a living, however, we are here as proof that moving abroad is not the solution. Workers have no other choice than to stand together to unify their strength and change the system oppressing the ranks of our people. The oppressors built the chain, we will break it.”

This call for militant workers’ action was heard from other speakers as well. The speaker for the Justice for Jollibee Workers campaign said, “Just as workers before us fought for minimum wages, adequate hours, and occupational safety and health, we, even those non-workers, have a duty to continue the fight for workers’ rights everywhere, especially now when the new U.S. administration’s policies have a direct impact on workers.”

“We’ve witnessed firsthand the power of collective action,” they continued. “We must continue to educate and foster unity among our fellow workers to face the challenges ahead. We must take on the campaigns of our fellow workers, keep organizing more protests, keep speaking up, and keep calling out the matapobres or ruling class who continue to trample over our rights!”

In addition to general demands around migrant workers and other overseas Filipinos, the demonstrators made specific demands, that could be heard throughout the action and seen on signs including “Justice for Alma Bowman,” “Justice for Dhenmark and Jovi” and “Free Ligaya Jensen.”

ILPS militantly condemns the continuation of indiscriminate airstrikes by the U.S.-Zionist entity and the deliberate engineering of the end of the Gaza ceasefire. This is part of the war of extermination against the Palestinian people that the U.S.-Zionist entity has continuously pursued to advance its expansionist settler-colonial project. The Palestinian people and its unified resistance continue to stand strong in the face of genocide and will continue to resist until the Zionist occupation has ceased to exist.

In the last 24 hours, more than 400 displaced Palestinian civilians have been killed while asleep in their tents in Gaza from the indiscriminate airstrikes, with at least 560 wounded. Since October 7th, 2023, there have been at least 70,000 Palestinian people killed with over 1.8 million displaced by thi genocide. Beyond the Zionist entity’s genocide against the Palestinian people, their bloody hands have killed 2,720 Lebanese people with over 1.4 million displaced by their invasion of Lebanon since October 1st, 2024.

The end of the ceasefire was engineered with the full cooperation of the United States, not the resistance forces of Palestine as the imperialist press is propagating. In the words of the Zionist entity’s Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, “The operation in Gaza is gradual, and we have planned it over the past few weeks since the appointment of the new Chief of Staff [of the IDF, Eyal Zamir].” These developments are not surprising, as the Zionist entity was blocking humanitarian aid and withholding Palestinian hostages since the beginning of the ceasefire deal, but this new surprise offensive by the Zionist entity with consultation and support from the U.S. shows a further commitment to a war of extermination against the Palestinian people for their settler-colonial project and marks the U.S.’s additional focus against Iran and the Axis of Resistance in their imperialist strategy.

The surprise attack on Gaza, with clear intents of preparations for further escalation, the military and political changes in Syria, and renewed attacks on Yemen are directed by the U.S. to a geopolitical recalibration of political balance, with ultimate intent of weakening/eliminating Iran, who for many decades has remained one of the strongest, if not the strongest resistance against US imperialism.

The Zionist entity and its allies have constantly broken its ceasefire with Hezbollah by continuing to shoot civilians, conducting airstrikes, bombing infrastructure, and not ending their occupation of part of Southern Lebanon alongside manufacturing tensions at the Lebanese-Syrian borders in order to destabilize Lebanon and pull Hezbollah into a side battle so they can occupy more of Mount Hermon in sovereign Syrian land. The Zionist entity’s and U.S.’s support of the HTS-led coup in Syria has killed 4,711 people, including 1,805 executed in HTS’s ethnic cleansing campaign since December 8th, 2024. The Zionists have enflamed ethnic tensions to secure control in the Druze minority areas and are opportunistically using the ongoing Syria-Lebanon border clashes to weaken Hezbollah and keep them from intervening in solidarity with Gaza.

The U.S. Central Command has also engaged in naval warfare and airstrikes against Yemen and their blockade against the Zionist entity, killing over 50 people and wounding dozens in recent days. This comes as Ansar Allah has resumed its naval blockade on ships and fired against U.S.-Zionist military structures in solidarity with the people of Gaza. In addition, Trump has stated that Iran must be ‘held responsible’ for ‘leading’ Ansar Allah’s defensive actions, threatening “great force, and there is no guarantee that that force will stop there.”

The death toll, displacement, and destruction caused by the U.S.-Zionist entity alliance is only rising because of their inability to accomplish any military objectives. In contrast, he resistance has grown in numbers, refilling its ranks with the full support of its people, who know that their existence and victory can only be assured by ending the Zionist occupation and ridding U.S. imperialism from the region. Now, more than ever, the peoples across the world must take the streets and show unconditional solidarity with the people of Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, the wider West Asia, and the united Axis of Resistance.

Washington, DC – On February 26, Wednesday evening, community organizers and activists gathered outside of the Embassy of the Philippines in DC to commemorate the 39th anniversary of the 1986 EDSA Peoples Power uprisings.

The action began with Tagalog chants of “Makibaka! Huwag matakot!” (Fight! Don’t be afraid!) and “From Palestine to the Philippines! Stop the U.S. war machine!” while speakers detailed the history of the EDSA uprisings and sacrifices of the Filipino people to oust the dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

Co-sponsoring organizations included the International League of Peoples Struggles Baltimore-DMV, Anakbayan DC and Montgomery County, Malaya Movement DC, and Katarungan DC.

After chants, a member of the DC Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression speaking on behalf of ILPS-DMV, stated, “The wave of political repression we’re seeing in the forms of ICE raids, police brutality, national oppression, and attacks on the rights of all oppressed peoples, draws parallels to horrors the Filipino people faced in their revolutionary struggle against the brutal dictator Ferdinand Marcos.”

The day before, Malaya Movement DC, in partnership with other organizations, held a panel discussion on the People Power anniversary at Cleveland Park Library. It included speakers from many Filipino organizations, as well as Tita Delia, an activist who organized during martial law in the Philippines.

Tita Delia spoke on how martial law and the decades- long occupation of the Philippines would not be possible without the backing and support of the United States government. When asked how Filipino consciousness has changed over the decades, Tita Delia answered that Filipino youth in particular are much more sensitive to gender and LGBTQ issues, but many are unaware of the fascist dictatorship that terrorized the Philippines, and that this is largely due to the Marcos regime’s revision of history.

A speaker from Malaya Movement DC also stressed the importance of the decades-long struggle waged by the New People’s Army in the Philippines in the countryside.

The International League of Peoples’ Struggle celebrates the announcement of a Gaza ceasefire deal between the Palestinian resistance forces and the genocidal occupation state that has waged a war of extermination against the Palestinian people for more than the past year, in actuality for now more than a century.

Since the launch of the October 7th 2023 Al Aqsa Flood operation, more than 46,000 Palestinians have been confirmed killed as well as more than 110,00 injured. This is only the confirmed killings, and adding up the number of missing under the rubble and deaths from injuries, cold, and forced starvation would bring the total deaths to potentially well over 200,000, with thousands suffering amputations. This is a crime of unimaginable brutality committed by the Zionists and funded and protected by the most savage imperialist profiteers, most notably the United States. At this point we should also remember the thousands of political prisoners that remain in Zionist detention, and the fight for their freedom must continue.

This ceasefire is a victory for the Palestinian people who have endured the most horrific, brutal, and blatantly racist genocidal violence for more than a year. It was only achieved due to the heroic steadfastness of the Palestinian people to remain on their rightful land at all costs, and of the Palestinian resistance to fight on to defend that right and that land. Praise must also be given to the unconditional support for Palestine from region-wide Axis of Resistance in Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, Syria, and Iran against whom the imperialists and Zionists are preparing to continue their war, and the anti-imperialist movement must waste no time in learning the hard-fought lessons from this period of united struggle against a united target. The leadership over the many decades and the countless martyrs of Palestine fighting for the eventual end of the occupation will forever be remembered as having given their lives for this stage towards the full liberation of Palestine.

The ceasefire is not due to any good will on the part of the Zionists or their imperialist, fascist funders, but instead was forced due to the military defeats and international isolation of the Zionists diplomatically. The grotesque face of ‘Israel’ has been fully exposed to the world and it can never go back to showing itself as the only ‘democracy in the Middle East.’ It is not only the Zionist state that has lost all credibility but also the United States, the most vicious of imperialist powers through history. The Biden administration has finally pressured the Zionist entity to take the ceasefire deal in order to ‘steal a victory’ from the incoming Trump presidency, showcasing the political games of the imperialists at the expense of the Palestinian people. Nevertheless, the Zionist entity is in deep economic, political, and diplomatic crises despite all of the military aid and training the U.S. has given it, signaling that the ceasefire is only the start of the end for the settler-colony.

The ILPS celebrates this peoples’ victory but also knows that the Zionist occupation and the genocidal war in general are not over. The Zionist apartheid state has violated the Lebanon ceasefire every day since it was made, and we know they will do the same in Gaza. Already, US Senator and incoming Secretary of State for President Trump, Marco Rubio during his confirmation speech stated, “How can any nation-state on the planet coexist side by side with a group of savages like Hamas?” These are blood-chilling words and people of the world must be ready to fight against more deadly wars of aggression, to be thrust on our territories and countries. The willful aiding and abetting of the US, the NATO powers and the wider Western world is the deadliest tool in supporting the genocide.

The people of the world, especially in the US and the imperialist countries, must continue to take to the streets and fight in unconditional solidarity with the Palestinian people to pressure and break the will of the imperialists to keep funding the Zionists until the resistance is victorious and Palestine is free from the river to the sea!

Seattle, WA – On Saturday afternoon, November 9, the people of Seattle rallied on the grounds of the Space Needle, seeking to build the people’s movement and fight war, repression and genocide in the wake of the Trump election.

Students, immigrants, activists and concerned locals wearing keffiyehs and holding anti-Trump and anti-war banners gathered despite the rain, chanting, “The people united will never be defeated! ¡El pueblo unido jamás será vencido!”

Jessica Rojas from the International Migrant’s Alliance spoke on the hateful anti-immigrant rhetoric Trump employed in his campaign saying that Trump is, “promising the largest mass deportation this country has ever seen, promising to deport 20 million undocumented migrants. He wants to revoke citizenship from children who were born here in the United States. He intends to deport migrants who are here legally.”

Rojas went on to point out how key immigrants are to the global economy, stating, “Migrants pay $13 billion in taxes in this country, which then are used by the U.S. government to fund wars and intervention in our homelands, creating the very conditions that force us to have to leave our homes in the first place!”

Each speaker, representing a wide range of local and national organizations, talked about the importance of building a people’s coalition to stand up and fight back.

Representing the Affected Person’s Program was activist Castill Hightower, who spoke on the obstruction she has faced at the hands of Seattle city officials while fighting for a new city office that gives direct resources to victims of police violence.

Hightower stated, “We don’t need to wait for elected officials who have obstructed our initiative twice already. But we can’t do it alone. So join our fight for a new reality for victims of police violence and their families. Reach out to get involved with the Affected Persons Program initiative.”

After speeches and chants, thousands of activists, organizers, and community members marched to the Amazon Spheres in downtown Seattle, where the rally continued.

Labor organizer Clio Jensen, stated, “I think now is the time to join an organization and fight back! All the rights we have in this country were not given to us, they were fought for by the working class, by oppressed nationalities, by immigrants, by standing up and fighting back. We’re not going to, under any presidency, win rights just by staying home by doing nothing. I feel hopeful because I’m part of an organization that’s capable of standing up to the Republicans, standing up to Trump, and winning.”

The Anakbayan USA representative said, “Our strength is in our ability to be with one another, to show up for each other, to organize and fight together, to solve our problems together. We call on everyone to not leave it here, to not leave it on these streets, but to move forward together, to join an organization, to join a campaign to take our enemies down, together!”

The rally and march were organized by the International League of People’s Struggle - Seattle, and was endorsed by a wide coalition of organizations, including, Bayan Seattle, South Asians Resisting Imperialism (SARI), Services not Sweeps Coalition, No Tech for Apartheid, and the Seattle Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression.

Washington, DC – On July 7, hundreds of activists from over 60 organizations mobilized to protest the 75th anniversary NATO Summit occurring July 9 -11 in the city. The protest, organized the Resist NATO coalition started at McPherson Square and marched to the White House, demanding an end to U.S.- NATO aggression and to defend peoples’ struggles.  

The Resist NATO coalition is made up of various groups including the International League of Peoples’ Struggle – US (ILPS-US), Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO), Bayan USA, Black Alliance for Peace (BAP), International Action Center, and the National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression (NAARPR). 

A member of NAARPR spoke at the rally stating, “From the war-torn streets of Afghanistan to the devastated cities of Libya, we raise our voices in support of those who have been killed by U.S. military aggression. Instead of money going towards our military, why is money not going towards our community? Why is money not going towards education? Or mental health?” The U.S. is by far the largest contributor to NATO’s budget. In 2023, the U.S. represented 68% of the total expenditure of NATO, spending $860 billion.

An organizer in Palestinian Youth Movement stated, “It is not only important, but necessary, to resist NATO through a broad united front, in order to protect people’s just struggle for freedom in Palestine, in the Philippines, in Puerto Rico, in Washington DC, and everywhere in the world. The peoples’ resistance in Palestine threatens the interests of Western imperialism and for the first time in recent history, the tides are turning. The myth of Israeli invincibility, of U.S. supremacy, of the futility of resistance, and of capitulation being the only solution has shattered. People around the world are joining the fight for total liberation.”

The Resist NATO coalition had a successful weekend of actions to protest the NATO summit, and they plan to continue building out the united front against US-NATO military escalation and aggression.

Washington, DC – On July 6, the Resist NATO Coalition hosted a Counter-Summit with over 300 attendees from across the country, two panels, and a cultural performance. This year is the 75th anniversary of the founding of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

The Resist NATO coalition states, “In practice, NATO acts as an armed wing of U.S.-led war.” Key slogans from the event included calls for the U.S. out of the Philippines, and an end to the ongoing U.S.-backed genocide of the Palestinian people.

The Resist NATO coalition is comprised of over 60 organizations such as the International League of Peoples’ Struggle – US (ILPS-US), Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO), Bayan USA, Black Alliance for Peace (BAP), the International Action Center, and the National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression (NAARPR).

The coalition was formed in response to NATO hosting a summit in Washington, DC this year July 9, 10 and 11.

The speaking panels featured activists and organizers from the peoples’ struggles, such as Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM), Nodutdol, Diaspora Pa’lante Collective, Pan-African Community Action, etc.; discussing how to connect their fights through the collective need to dismantle NATO and resist its military aggression and escalation.

One of the panelists, from the Milwaukee Anti-War Committee, discussed the need to join the March on the RNC in Milwaukee on July 15 to fight against the racist and reactionary Trump agenda.

One of the panelists, an organizer in Palestinian Youth Movement, stated, “The NATO military alliance was created to protect Western imperialist interests in the wake of growing communism and people’s liberation movements internationally after World War II. NATO is anti-people in nature, a piece in the imperialist war machine that aims to crush national liberation movements in order to maintain Western hegemonic rule and control over the world’s resources.”

The Counter-Summit was followed by a mass mobilization the next day.

“Rim of the Pacific is the largest military exercise held anywhere in the world and takes place every two years in U.S.-occupied Hawai'i,” said Katie Comfort, a member of the International Women's Alliance's Global Secretariat and representative for the Cancel RIMPAC campaign. “Organizers in Hawai'i have been mobilizing against RIMPAC for decades, drawing attention to the environmental degradation, violence against women, and overall negative impact on the people living on the islands.”

“Today is an important and significant day to hold this press conference, as RIMPAC's opening banquet is kicking off tonight in San Diego with the heads of U.S. and foreign militaries,” continued Comfort.

Organizers from both Hawai'i and San Diego spoke about the disastrous effects these exercises have on both areas. Rose Elovitz, a member of Jewish Voice for Peace Hawai'i, spoke about the effects RIMPAC has on Hawai'i and its people, saying, “The rate of sex trafficking – which disproportionately affects native Hawaiian women and girls – rises 30% during RIMPAC. The use of navy sonar has been proved to confuse and harm whales, leading to mass die-offs and beachings. The wellbeing of people, land and water are not a concern to the U.S. military agenda.”

From the other coast, members of the Resist NATO coalition spoke about their efforts to fight back against the upcoming 2024 NATO Summit.

Speaking for the Resist NATO coalition, BAYAN USA and Anakbayan Montgomery County member Gabby Rivera said, “Since its creation in DC in 1949, NATO has served as the armed wing of U.S.-led imperialism. This upcoming NATO summit on July 9 through 11 marks the 75th anniversary of the signing of the North Atlantic Treaty in DC — and with it the founding of NATO.”

Rivera continued, “Here they will introduce major policies such as new sanctions, military budgets, mass surveillance and cyberwar initiatives. None of these will be in the interests of the international working class and oppressed, but rather the imperialist leaders with the US at their head.”

In addition to the Cancel RIMPAC Campaign and the Resist NATO Coalition, the press conference also featured speakers from the International League of Peoples' Struggle, Malaya San Diego, Jewish Voice for Palestine Hawai'i, the African National Women's Organization, the Palestinian Youth Movement, Pan-African Community Action, and BAYAN USA.

This press conference is one of a variety of actions in San Diego and Hawai'i, all of which lead up to a people's summit and mobilizations against RIMPAC in San Diego on June 29 and June 30, respectively. Next week, the Resist NATO coalition will also hold a people's summit on July 6 and a march on July 7 to protest NATO's 75th anniversary summit in DC.

Washington, D.C. – On May 4, the DC Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression (DCAARPR), hosted its first local conference. A first of its kind for a branch of the National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression (NAARPR), the conference brought about 50 organizers, activists and community members together for a discussion on police accountability and community control. Many of the attendees were Black, Latino, Arab, Asian, and Pacific Islanders.

Organizations in attendance included Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO) DC, DMV Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM), Anakbayan DC, Claudia Jones School for Political Education, Pan-African Community Action (PACA), Communist Party USA DC (CPUSA), and the International League of People’s Struggle (ILPS).

The conference opened with remarks by keynote speaker Frank Chapman, a founding member and current executive director of the NAARPR and field organizer for the Chicago Alliance Against Racist & Political Repression (CAARPR or the Chicago Alliance). Chapman, a political prisoner who was freed by the efforts of the NAARPR in 1973, spoke of the origins of the Alliance and the importance of the historic demand for community control.

“The Alliance grew out of the demand to free Angela Davis, who faced trumped-up murder charges orchestrated by a racist police frame-up,” and “together with Charlene Mitchell and a talented group of organizers, I was freed from prison and dedicated myself to the struggle of Black liberation.”

“The demand for community control arose out of Black Reconstruction when for the first time Black people had political power to determine their futures. Black folks formed community militias to protect themselves from racist attacks from the likes of [what would form the KKK] and their bitter former masters. This demand was revived by the Black Panther Party during the Black Power movement of the 1970s.”

“Today, the Alliance takes up the demand for community control of the police, not only for the basic democratic demand that Black people have the say on who polices our communities and how, but also to allow for the organizing space and breathing room necessary to wage a struggle for freedom from exploitation. We cannot do that with the boot of the police on our necks.”

After Chapman’s keynote address, the organizing co-chair for DCAARPR reported on the activities of the DC Alliance from the past year. Those activities included electing a provisional executive to carry out the tasks; adopting bylaws; beginning a community outreach campaign and starting up tabling and fliering in targeted neighborhoods; regularly holding general body meetings; participating in national solidarity protests to free the Tampa 5; hosting Laura Rodriguez of the Tampa 5; hosting a fundraiser, the proceeds of which helping to send members to the 2023 National Conference and providing monetary support to the Tampa 5; attending the National Conference; participating in many solidarity actions for Palestine, including the Palestine National Week of Action; conducting political education around community control and political repression; and providing material support and political education at the Palestine solidarity student encampment at George Washington University.

The executive report was followed by a community discussion on police accountability, public safety and how to hold the police accountable. Groups identified the need to be united in action, and fighting toward community control as a primary campaign that could address many of the different issues discussed around police accountability and public safety.

The conference featured speeches from affiliates including DMV PYM, Anakbayan DC, Claudia Jones School for Political Education, PACA, CPUSA (DC), ILPS, and FRSO DC. Each affiliate spoke of the work they are doing and the importance of forming a united front for community control in DC.

“We in the Freedom Road Socialist Organization understand that oppressed people have the right to determine their own destinies, free of outside influence and repression,” the speaker for FRSO said, “We see community control of the police as a crucial step on this pathway; the people should have the say on police accountability; who polices them and how they are policed. We take on this righteous struggle through the power of the united front. In the words of CAARPR Field Organizer and NAARPR Executive Director Frank Chapman, “We must be headlights, not taillights. We must lead people out of their frustration, not into it.”

Additionally, the DC Alliance elected new leadership as follows: Kristen Bonner and Logan Cropper as organizing co-chairs, Jonathan Abraham and Tino Venable as outreach co-chairs, and Iain McNeely as secretary. The new executive committee will serve for the next two years and carry out the task of continuing to develop the DC Alliance and the demand for community control of the police. Also discussed and adopted were resolutions surrounding campaigns to hold accountable a local killer cop, Jason Bagshaw, and to provide critical support to homeless communities, among others.

The conference concluded by attendees following Assata's chant, but not before a call was made to continue the work of the Alliance and building the movement for community control. “The conference is only the beginning;” the conference emcee stated, “we want to host more forums like this where the community can come together to share their experiences and organize around the demand of justice and community control. We have come a long way from where we were last year, but we still have much more to struggle for, and much more to win. With the power of the people there is no obstacle that we cannot overcome! All power to the people!”

Hollywood, CA — A protest of 60 people gathered, March 10, near the Oscars to disrupt, chanting, “From the sea to the river, Palestine will live forever!”

“As one of the biggest awards shows in the world, broadcast live to nearly 20 million viewers in over 200 territories around the globe, the Oscars presents a perfect opportunity for Israel to conduct yet another massacre while the world is distracted, like the Super Bowl Massacre in February,” said Kareem Youssef, a leader in USPCN’s Southern California chapter. “But we will not allow that to happen. The Academy will not be allowed to conduct business as usual and maintain a facade of normalcy during a genocide.”

U.S. Palestinian Community Network (USPCN), Centro CSO, National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression (NAARPR), Black Lives Matter LA, Free Democratic Palestine Movement, and International League of Peoples' Struggle (ILPS) organized the protest at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Highland Avenue in the Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles.

This joint action by organizations from the Palestinian, Chicano and Black liberation movements exposed Hollywood’s active support of the U.S.-funded Israeli genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, and its retaliation against anyone in the film industry who speaks out against Israel’s atrocities and war crimes.

Gabriel Quiroz Jr of Centro CSO stated, “We’re here to shut it down! No business as usual while a genocide is happening in Palestine at the hands of Israel with the help of U.S. funding. Chicanos are here to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people's right to determine their own future. Just like Chicanos have the right to determine their own future here in Aztlan, cars are backed up for blocks as we have been causing a disruption.”

The U.S. Palestinian Community Network (USPCN), the National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression (NAARPR), and National Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) call for a week of action against the U.S./Israeli genocide in Gaza from February 5 to 11.

The call for the week of actions comes at a time when President Biden states the U.S. is going to step up its military intervention in the Middle East.

A statement from the groups initiating the week of protests states, “The people of Palestine are fighting for their liberation and the people of Yemen are standing with them. The U.S. government is sending billions in military aid to Israel and bombing Yemen. We will never be silent. All of us who stand with Palestine and believe in liberation need to act. The genocide must be stopped!”

“Israel is being defeated on every level – politically, militarily, legally at the International Court of Justice, and in the court of public opinion – so we must continue to apply pressure from the belly of the U.S. imperialist beast,” said Hatem Abudayyeh, national chair of the U.S. Palestinian Community Network. “Genocide Joe Biden is on the ropes as well, and the week of action will do what we've been doing so powerfully for four months with our Black and brown coalitions in Chicago and beyond – expose Zionism and U.S. complicity in the genocide.”

Frank Chapman, executive director of the National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression, states, “The recent decision by the UN International Court of Justice makes crystal clear the utter moral bankruptcy of the U.S./Israel axis waging genocidal war against the Palestinian people. Now more than ever we must demand that not another dime of our tax dollars be spent on a war being carried out by war criminals. It is clear now that a majority of the community of nations sees the U.S., Israel and their allies as perpetrators of war crimes, of crimes against humanity.”

Chrisley Carpio, of New Students for Democratic Society said, “The U.S. and its puppet, the Israeli government, are determined to fund and carry out a genocide of the Palestinian people. They will bomb Yemen, Iraq, and go to war with sovereign countries to maintain their criminal domination of the region. It's imperative that people in the United States do everything they can to damage this agenda, starting with calling for the end of all U.S. aid to Israel. Students across SDS are facing discipline, code of conduct charges, and other threats for opposing this genocide and for standing with Palestine. We won't stop now!”

Endorsers of the national week of action include the Samidoun Political Prisoners Network, National Students for Justice in Palestine, International League of Peoples’ Struggles – U.S., and the United National Antiwar Committee.
