Fight Back News Service is circulating the following resolution adopted by workers and communist parties gathered at the International Communist Seminar in Brussels, Belgium, May 13-15. The statement expresses solidarity with Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO), along with other anti-war and international solidarity activists who are facing repression in the United States. The resolution was signed by 42 parties.

More than 250 activists formed a ‘Shame on Bush’ human chain in front of the U.S. embassy in Brussels, Belgium, Sept. 23 to protest the Bush’s handling of the Katrina disaster and the war on Iraq. A statement from the organizers, the coalition StopUSA, said the demonstrators, “Wanted to symbolically encircle the U.S. embassy – as the peace movement in the United States is preparing to encircle the White House on Saturday, Sept. 24 – in protest against the war on Iraq and against the Bush administration’s attitude in the Katrina disaster.”

Brussels, Belgium – Hundreds of people defied police in Brussels, Belgium on April 3, and demonstrated against the U.S./NATO war against Yugoslavia. Authorities had banned the demonstration and attacked with helicopters, water cannons, and tear gas. Michael Colon, a journalist with the newspaper of the Workers Party of Belgium was severely beaten, along with others. A bus from a nearby town was surrounded by police who arrested all passengers.
