Minneapolis July 22 protest to say no to endless U.S. wars
Minneapolis, MN – A coalition to Twin Cities area peace and anti-war groups will hold a protest under the call of “Say no to endless U.S. wars,” on Saturday, July 22. The event will start at 1 p.m. at Hiawatha Avenue and Lake Street in Minneapolis. Participants will hold signs and banners along the sidewalks of the very busy intersection.
The Saturday protest is organized by the Minnesota Peace Action Coalition (MPAC).
A statement issued by MPAC says in part, “The Trump administration is carrying out a stealth escalation of U.S. wars and interventions around the world. More U.S. troops are being sent to Afghanistan, there are threats of a new Korean war, more drone strikes in Somalia and threats of escalations in Syria and Iraq.”
The call for the protest reads: “Stop U.S. wars and interventions,” and lists some of the countries the U.S. is involved in military actions, including, Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Korea, Somalia, Pakistan, Yemen, Philippines and Venezuela.
