Chicago Rasmea Odeh supporters heading for Detroit
Chicago, IL – Chicago supporters of Rasmea Odeh, are going all out for a major mobilization to pack the courtroom Odeh’s Nov. 4 trial in Detroit.
Joe Iosbaker, of the Anti-War Committee – Chicago stated, “Rasmea’s supporters in Chicago are boarding a bus late Monday night so we will be in Judge Drain’s court when her trial begins. The Anti-War Committee – Chicago, the U.S. Palestinian Community Network, activists from Students for Justice in Palestine, American Muslims for Palestine and the Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression, along with progressive academics and many others are going.”
“I’ll be there every day that she’s in court,” added Iosbaker.
Buses for Odeh’s trial in Detroit will be leaving from the Chicago area on Monday night, Nov. 3, at 11:30 p.m., from the Mosque Foundation in Bridgeview at 7360 W 93rd Street. People coming from the northside or near the Loop can board the bus at Daley Plaza (Dearborn and Washington) at 10:30 p.m.

Rasmea Odeh is long-time leader in the Palestinian American community who is facing jail and deportation on trumped-up immigration charges. She was targeted as a result of a FBI investigation of anti-war and Palestine Solidarity activists.
The trial is expected to last through Friday, Nov. 7.
