Boyle Heights community protest demands: No U.S. war on Syria!
Los Angeles, CA – Centro CSO and Latinos Against War and the community hit the streets on August 29 – the anniversary of our Chicano Moratorium Memorial Day of Resistance against war. Protesters demanded no U.S. war on the people of Syria and the Middle East and called for ending military recruitment aimed at our Latino and immigrant youth.
The protest was held in front of the largest military recruitment center in Los Angeles, at the East Los Angeles Plaza del Sol. Hundreds of passersby express their support by cheering and honking their horns. Students and families turned out to express anger at yet another U.S. war. Protesters chanted, “Raza si, guerra no! Money for human needs not war!”
Speaker David Cid told the crowd the U.S. is falsifying the Syrian events to try to justify a military attack.
