Confrontation underway at Minneapolis police station as protesters demand justice for Jamar Clark
Minneapolis, MN – Hundreds of protesters are standing strong at the Fourth Precinct Minneapolis police station on the night of Nov. 18, pressing the demand for justice for Jamar Clark. Police have fired a rubber bullet, known as a marking round, into the crowd and have been spraying people with pepper spray.
Late in the afternoon, police evicted activists who were occupying the entrance of station house. They attacked the occupation encampment protesters that constructed at the station earlier this week. Despite the attacks, the crowds grew bigger as the night wore on.
Clark’s murder by Minneapolis cops has given rise to a wave of demonstrations, including a Nov. 16 protest where more than 50 people were arrested after blocking Interstate 94 for two hours.
