Arizona educators prepare wave of walk-ins
Tucson, AZ – On April 4, educators across Arizona will gather outside their schools before the first bell and walk in together as a sign of unity in their fight for higher pay and equitable funding.
This action is a continuation of the massive surge of activity seen since the successful teachers strike in West Virginia.
“My protest sign is going to be on lined paper to show that my pay is so low I can’t afford a poster and markers,” said teacher Joy Noriega.
After school’s release in Tucson, there will be marches from schools close to the State Building where public education and #RedForEd supporters will gather and demand the return of the missing $1 billion for Arizona public schools.
