Anti-war leader opposes U.S. threats against Venezuela
Chicago, IL – In response to new U.S. government moves against Venezuela, anti-war activists are speaking out against Washington’s actions and threats.
Joe Iosbaker, of the Anti-War Committee of Chicago states, “Venezuela has never threatened the U.S. people. But the Bolivarian revolution is a threat to U.S. imperialist interests, in Venezuela and in Latin America as a whole. That’s because imperialism sucks the wealth out of other countries. The national democratic revolution, which continues under the leadership of President Maduro, intends to use Venezuela's resources to benefit the workers and farmers of their country. The U.S. government only wants to see profits going to U.S. banks and corporations. The U.S. should keep its hands off Venezuela.”
