Twin Cities protests new Israeli airstrikes on Gaza
St. Paul, MN – Palestine solidarity protesters gathered at the busy intersection of Summit and Snelling Avenues here, May 29, to demand Israel immediately halt air strikes on Gaza and for an end to U.S. aid to Israel.
Karmel Sabri of the Anti-War Committee told the crowd, “The relentless attacks on Gaza in summer of 2014 resulted in mass destruction and 2200 Palestinian lives lost. It is imperative that we hold Israel responsible for its human rights violation and protest any breaches in the ceasefire agreement in order to protect Palestinians from the peril of the corrupt and racist state of Israel.”
The May 29 action was organized by the Women Against Military Madness (WAMM)’s Middle East Committee and the Anti-War Committee.
