The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) condemned the Aquino regime and the US government for the docking of another US submarine in Subic Bay a few weeks after a similar docking by another American nuclear submarine roused nationalist opposition and protests from various sectors. The docking took place amid US government efforts to increase its military presence and strengthen its hegemonic domination in the Asia-Pacific.
In an April 21 statement, the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) cited pictures taken by Reuters photographer Romeo Ranoco and published on the Yahoo! News website (http://ph.news.yahoo.com/photos/balikatan-exercise-slideshow/) and other outlets clearly showing that so-called joint military exercises between the U.S. military and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) are geared towards U.S. involvement in local counter-guerrilla operations in the Philippines.
An April 8 report by the Korea Central News Agency states that the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) brought together representatives of the international media, along with experts on space science and technology, to visit the Sohae Satellite Launching Station.
The Korean Central News Agency reported on March 16, that the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), “is to launch a working satellite, Kwangmyongsong-3, manufactured by itself with indigenous technology to mark the 100th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.”

Beijing, China – The New China News Agency (Xinhua) reported Jan. 14 that China’s Foreign Ministry voiced its “strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition” to the United States' decision to impose sanctions on a Chinese company, the Zhuhai Zhenrong Corporation.
According to a report from New China News Agency (Xinhua) large scale celebrations of the birth of Mao Zedong took place on Dec. 26. The article stated:
The morning of Dec. 19 started like a normal Monday for the Korean staff at the Hae Dang Hwa restaurant in Beijing. The greeting staff welcomed hungry customers at the front door, the chefs began prepping their fine selection of kimchi and other Korean dishes and the waitresses and waiters began taking down orders for their guests. All of that changed when a China Daily reporter mentioned in a conversation with a waitress that Kim Jong-Il, the head of state for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), had died that morning of a heart attack. In minutes, the entire Korean staff – from the waiters to the chefs in the kitchen – broke down in tears and, after apologizing to the customers, closed the restaurant early for the day so they could grieve the national tragedy together.
