Durban, South Africa – During the 17th Congress of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) on Oct. 7, Fight Back! spoke with Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, the General Secretary of the Cuban Workers Central (CTC), the umbrella union federation of workers in socialist Cuba which represents more than 3.5 million workers. At the WFTU Congress, Guilarte was also elected as one of the vice president of the WFTU’s Presidential Council.

Durban, South Africa – 1500 delegates from class-struggle unions from over 110 countries gathered in Durban, South Africa on Oct. 5 to begin the 17th Congress of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU). The WFTU represents 92 million workers in 125 countries.
