Send Holiday Greetings to Jailed Colombian Freedom Fighter
Fight Back News Service is circulating the following statement from the National Committee to Free Ricardo Palmera. We urge all readers to send holiday greetings to Palmera and forward this appeal to others who support justice.
Sisters and Brothers,
As the holiday season is here, we urge you to give your support and solidarity to one of the most important political prisoners in the United States today – Ricardo Palmera. Palmera, a leader of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, has devoted his entire life to bettering the lot of the oppressed. As a result, he was kidnapped by the Bush administration and is now being held under cruel conditions in a prison outside of Washington D.C.
Ricardo Palmera in not allowed visitors. He is being held in solidarity confinement. Palmera is not allowed contact with the outside world, including the press. It is vital that people of goodwill work to break his isolation and build the fight for his return to Colombia.
Please send a card and message of greeting to Ricardo. Send a copy of that message to the National Committee to Free Ricardo Palmera at www.freericardopalmera.org. It is possible that the prison authorities will not deliver these cards and messages. In that case the National Committee will demand answers from the prison authorities. By sending these messages of holiday solidarity, you are sending a clear message to Ricardo’s jailers that you are concerned about the fate of this Colombian freedom fighter.
Messages can be sent to Ricardo Palmera’s Federal Public Defender:
