Fort Lauderdale, FL – On Sunday, April 15, about 25 members of the South Florida activist community joined together outside of the federal courthouse in Fort Lauderdale to protest the latest U.S. attacks on Syria. The event was in reaction to the attack Friday night by U.S. and its accomplices, in which they illegally bombed three government-controlled sites in and around heavily populated areas in Syria.
Dallas, TX – About 40 people gathered in Dealey Plaza in Downtown Dallas, April 14, to raise their voices against Trump’s attack on Syria the day before. Signs were present with slogans such as “Hands off Syria,” “No war on Syria” and “U.S. out of the Middle East.”

The U.S. stock market fell again Friday, April 6, with the broadest measure, the S&P 500, falling more than 2%. This followed President Trump’s tweet on Thursday that he would ask for a list of an additional $100 billion in imports from China to put tariffs on, raising the total to more than $150 billion. It was also revealed that there are no negotiations between China and the U.S., raising the likelihood of a full-blown trade war.
Memphis, TN – Members of AFSCME and other unions, along with civil rights activists, marched in Memphis, April 4, the anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King. King was in Memphis to support striking sanitation workers, members of AFSCME Local 1733, at the time of his 1968 murder.

Tampa, FL – Two dozen University of South Florida students, workers and community members came together at the MLK plaza, at USF, March 29, to protest the police killing of Stephon Clark. Clark was 22 years old, a father, African American, and unarmed. He was murdered by Sacramento police when he was shot 20 times in his grandmother’s backyard.
