Salt Lake City standing in solidarity with Rasmea Odeh
Salt Lake City, UT – Members of the Utah Anti-War Committee will gather outside Salt Lake City's downtown courthouse on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 7:00 p.m. to demand justice for Palestinian American leader Rasmea Odeh.
The Salt Lake City protest comes one day before Odeh’s Cincinnati appeal hearing before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, where her lawyers will challenge her conviction on a trumped-up immigration charge. Odeh is facing jail and deportation.
“We've been organizing events around Rasmea's case for a long time, and we're going to be there to demand Justice for Rasmea,” said Salt Lake City activist Alyssa Ferris. “We want to show that the people support Rasmea.”
“I think it's important to stand with Rasmea Odeh and against all forms of political repression,” said Gregory Lucero, who plans to attend the event.
