PFLP: Quartet providing cover for Israeli crimes
Fight Back News Service is circulating the following statement from Jamil Mizher, a leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
Comrade Mizher: Quartet providing cover for Israeli crimes
Comrade Jamil Mizher, member of the Central Committee of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, dismissed the so-called “Quartet's” criticism of Israeli settlements, noting that the Quartet continues to demand negotiations between the Palestinian Authority and the Zionist state, reflecting its ongoing support for the occupation state and its commitment to provide cover for occupation crimes.
Comrade Mizher emphasized, in a March 21, 2010 interview with Al-Alam TV, that if the Quartet was seriously interested in curbing Israeli crimes, it would use all of the political and economic forces available to it to stop the fascist practices of the Zionist regime, yet instead it uses mere words of criticism in the face of Israeli war crimes while continuing to support the siege on Gaza and demanding concessions from Palestinians on their national rights.
He criticized the remarks of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas welcoming the Quartet comments, saying that it is incomprehensible to have any direct or indirect negotiations with the occupation, emphasizing that any return to negotiations only provides a cover for the crimes of the occupation, its aggression, tyranny and plans to build thousands of colonial settlement units.
Comrade Mizher said that the path of negotiations has proven over the past sixteen years to be a complete failure that has brought the Palestinian people nothing but destruction and ruin, demanding a complete end to the path of Oslo and instead, the implementation of Palestinian national rights, particularly Palestinian refugees' right to return. He stressed that Palestinians must engage in a comprehensive political review and develop a strategy based on adherence to national principles and national resistance.
