Dallas, TX – In the 24 hours since the outrageous verdict of acquittal in the Trayvon Martin case was announced, Dallas has seen at least three protests demanding justice for the young, unarmed black man gunned down in a Florida neighborhood.

The first protest started at 10:00 p.m. on July 13 and went until about midnight. Some 30 people, including former U.S. Representative Cynthia McKinney, came together on Main Street by the JFK Memorial holding signs and chanting, “Justice for Trayvon,” and “Zimmerman, Zimmerman, you've got blood on your hands.”

The next day protesters were at it again at from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the corner of MLK and McCallum Boulevard. Protesters again held signs and chanted. They also had a large banner decrying systemic racism and the resulting tolerance for this hate-crime murder.

A meeting at Dallas City Hall at 6:00 p.m. brought together around 100 people who again chanted, held signs and heard speeches denouncing the murder and the impunity which has been allowed to George Zimmerman.
