O sons of our Palestinian people, sons of our Arab nation, free people of the world:

Palestinian prisoners’ day falls on the seventeenth of April this year, with more than 4,900 male and female prisoners still languishing in the prisons of the zionist enemy. Among them are children, the sick, the elderly, and those who are about to spend more than 40 continuous years in their prisons, in extremely miserable human conditions and psychological suffering. They are subjected to torture by various material means, denial of treatment, solitary confinement, the withdrawal of the rights and privileges that they obtained through their relentless struggle and courageous confrontation of the policies of the zionist prisons administration. In addition, they are subjected to other repressive measures and practices to deprive them of their freedom, and the work to legalize these procedures and practices has lead to the adoption of the “Execution of Prisoners” law, which was approved in the first reading in a blatant attempt to stigmatize their struggle with terrorism and remove them from the category of being essentially prisoners for freedom.

The repressive and intimidating measures and practices undertaken by successive zionist governments against the prisoners, leading to their escalation to much higher levels under the fascist Netanyahu-Ben Gvir-Smotrich government, did not diminish the support, cohesion, and unity of the prisoners national movement, through upward struggle measures and counter-steps by announcing preparations for a hunger strike with the beginning of the month of Ramadan. This prompted the administration of the Prisons Authority to submit to their will, and to fulfill many of the demands set by the prisoners movement as they conveyed to us a clear message from their advanced front of struggle in the fight against the enemy: that adhering to the objectives, uniting behind them, and striving to achieve them, all constitute one of the most important factors in victory over the enemy, regardless of the many forms of its superiority, and whatever the level of its aggression, brutality, and terror.

The male and female prisoners have recorded – and still record – an honorable history full of giving, sacrifice and altruism in the journey of our continuous national struggle. Their case intensifies the dialectic of the relationship between man and freedom, in which the freedom of the individual merges with the freedom of his people on the path to achieving his major national and historical goals of independence, return and self-determination. At a time when we salute them with pride, honor and appreciation, this calls for the Palestinian national movement to rise to the level of the challenges facing the prisoners’ movement and its rights.

The first is the right to freedom, as well as their human rights, and this requires that their cause be at the top of our national agenda as humanitarian and human rights forces, factions, institutions and centers, and those specialized in their cause. This takes [the prisoners’ movement] out of seasonal circles and reactions to continuous daily work and puts it before international human rights, legal ,and humanitarian institutions and forums, in defense of them in the face of zionist measures and practices and their natural right to freedom.

O Sons of our people, our nation, and the free people of the world:

There is no separation in waging the battle of freedom and emancipation, through the struggle against the existence of zionism and the zionist project in the heart of the Arab world, Palestine. Zionism has an organic connection with the Western imperialist colonial project, which pursued – and is still pursuing – the revolutionaries striving for freedom in various parts of the world, countries, peoples and individuals.

Here, after paying tribute to the internationalist comrade Georges Abdallah, who is about to enter his fortieth year in the prisons of French imperialism, the continuation of his detention throughout these years, and the rejection of all demands for his release clearly affirms and exposes the falsity of the theorizing claims of the so-called “free world” that calls for human rights, democracy and peace.

These can only be snatched by the free will of the people and their unity in the various arenas of struggle, in order to establish the true concepts of the aspired free world, away from occupation, domination, theft of peoples’ wealth and rights, and the deprivation of their freedom and self-determination.

The Palestinian Prisoner's Day is a day of freedom, not only for Palestinian prisoners. The dimensions of their national, popular, and international cause make it a day for all prisoners of freedom in this world. Accordingly, we call for placing their cause in the position it deserves politically by all available and possible means and methods and for broad participation in commemorating this day in the activities to be implemented inside and outside Palestine by national forces and factions, and institutions and committees concerned with their cause and in solidarity with our people.

Freedom and justice for the prisoners of freedom. Victory is definitely the ally of our people and all the struggling peoples.

We salute the victory of the prisoners in this battle and call for the continuation of a broader process of political, on the field, media, and popular support, considering that their cause is one of the main issues of the struggle against the enemy.

The participation of the Palestinian Authority in the Aqaba-Sharm el-Sheikh meeting is a coup against the popular will and a rebellion against the decisions of the national consensus that reject this participation and warn of its consequences.

The continuation of the [Palestinian] Authority on this destructive path will have serious repercussions on the resistance in the West Bank and on the internal Palestinian situation. This requires exposing this approach and confronting it explicitly by the national community: politically, media-wise, popularly, and by democratic means.

Our position considers that the struggle with the zionist enemy is an antagonistic struggle that cannot be resolved with illusions of settlement, peace, and political solutions, but rather with resistance in all its forms, until the enemy and its hostile project are defeated. In this context, we call for deepening the predicament of this entity, protecting our existence and our rights through escalating resistance, and clashing in all sites and arenas.

We call for confronting the targeting [of the resistance] in all its dimensions and its parties, through [battle] field unity and emphasizing resistance as an approach, culture, and tool. We also call for protecting the resistance, providing political cover for it, and enhancing its popular incubator.

We call on all [national] forces to immediately begin searching for mechanisms to implement the signed agreements to end division and restore unity. We see the initiative put forward by the Front as an important mechanism to form a widespread popular, political, and societal situation that takes upon itself to impose these agreements on the divided parties.

We welcome the Saudi-Iranian agreement and consider it one of the steps that can cool the regional conflict, expose the falsehood of the sectarian conflict claim, as well as [put an end to] the Saudi war on Yemen, and we warn of attempts to sabotage the agreement by the US administration and the zionist entity.

The collapse of three American banks during March 2023 is not far from international transformations and crises resulting from the Ukrainian-Russian war, and reveals the contradictions of the capitalist system, especially in its Western model, which serves the bourgeois class, protects its interests, and burdens the consequences of its crises on the working class and the poor in general.

The seriousness of the current developments and the plans targeting our cause and our national and historical rights require the highest cohesion and unity to confront them; a national unity that is reflected in a national liberation program, and national institutions rebuilt democratically, especially the Palestine Liberation Organization; the legitimate and sole representative of our people, where a true national partnership is available.

Minneapolis, MN – Responding to Israeli Minister of Defense Gantz’s February 28 terrorist designation of the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, Charlotte Kates, International Coordinator of Samidoun, stated, “Israel – the Zionist state, is attempting to criminalize and label as terrorist any and all advocacy for the Palestinian political prisoners and the Palestinian people.”

The Israeli government claims the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network is connected to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a Marxist group that is helping to spearhead opposition to the occupation of Palestine.

Speaking of the designation, Kates says, “This comes as no surprise, as there is a lengthy history of Israeli attacks and repression, with the complicity of imperialist powers, against Palestinian and Palestine solidarity movements and organizations, including imprisonment, assassination and criminalization.”

Kates continued, “We see this designation as an attempt to suppress the growing international solidarity movement with Palestinian political prisoners, including the recent launch of the campaign to free imprisoned Palestinian students with over 300 endorsing organizations. As Israel commits extrajudicial killings, home demolitions, arbitrary imprisonment, military occupation, settler colonialism, a bloody siege on Gaza and the denial of Palestinians' right to return home for 72 years, it has the audacity to deem Samidoun a ‘terrorist’ organization for engaging in public advocacy, demonstrations and international mobilization in defense of Palestinian rights and liberation.”

In the U.S. the label of terrorist is also been used against progressives. Material support for terrorism laws have been employed to criminalize solidary with Palestine, notably in the massive 2010 FBI raids on anti-war and international solidarity activists.

The U.S continues to call most of the organizations that are fighting for the Palestinian freedom terrorist, and the State Department has put the terrorism tag on many organizations that are fighting for national liberation, including those of Colombia, Lebanon and the Philippines.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) expressed its support for people in the U.S. confronting the injustice and racism practiced by the U.S. government in various cities and towns in the United States.

This statement came in response to the repression against those protesting the deliberate killing of a Black citizen by the police in the city of Minneapolis, reflecting the racist character and right-wing policies of the Trump administration, which fuels racism and contradicts all its claims of defending freedom and democracy.

The Front noted that the U.S. government’s use of its contradictory claims to defend democracy and equality in all countries of the world, and to use this as an entry point to interfere in the internal affairs of countries, such as accusing China of destabilizing Hong Kong, no longer fools anyone. The practices of the U.S. administration and Trump are made clear by the brutal methods of repression used against demonstrators opposing racist policies toward Black people in the U.S.

The Popular Front concluded by stating that it is not surprising for a country like the United States, which has a strategic alliance with the Zionist entity [Israel], to intersect with it in the discrimination, racism and repression that embodies its treatment of Palestinians.

The 52nd anniversary of the founding of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) was observed with a December 7 march by tens of thousands of members and supporters in Gaza City. The organization of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine inside the prisons calls for a general mobilization among its ranks, announcing the first to enter the hunger strike.

In the context of the Battle of Dignity (Karameh) 2, which was decided upon by the prisoners’ movement inside the Zionist detention camps immediately after the prison administration disavowed their own agreements, the organization declares that the Popular Front in the prisons is mobilizing in all ranks of leaders and members and emphasizes the following points:

1) The organization declares that it will abide by the decision of the prisoners’ movement, especially the committees that negotiated to obtain these just demands from the prison administration. The prisoners of the four forces (Hamas, the two Fronts and Islamic Jihad) have decided to engage in this battle a gradual manner, beginning with the entry of hundreds of prisoners in the strike, and affirm that this battle will not stop until the prisoners obtain their demands.

2) We emphasize that fighting this battle and joining our comrades on a rolling basis is a major task, and we promise the Palestinian masses that we will always be at the heart of the battle and the vanguard of the ranks.

3) In this context, we announce the involvement of the comrade prisoners in the strike: Kamil Abu Hanish, Hekmat Abdel-Jalil, Hisham Kaabi, Nidal Daghlis, Marcel Shtayyeh from Nablus, Khaled Halabi from Jerusalem, Mahmoud Abu Saba from Ramallah, Samer al-Qaisi from Dheisheh camp in Bethlehem. These are from the same group that were attacked and suppressed in Section 1 of Ramon prison a few days ago amid the burning of the section. In addition, the leader of the PFLP prison branch, Wael Jaghoub, announced that he will begin the battle of dignity early, two days ago.

4) We call upon the masses of our people inside Palestine and in the diaspora to support the prisoners’ movement in the Battle of Karameh 2. This battle must be a national and popular struggle that brings all to the fields of confrontation, anger and engagement with the occupation, emphasizing our collective unity in this decision to engage in the Battle of Dignity.

It’s time to step up the struggle to free Ahmad Sa’adat, a noted Palestinian political prisoner and General Secretary of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). Sa’adat, who has been imprisoned for nearly 20 years, first by the corrupt and occupation-complicit Palestinian Authority, and now by the Israelis, has come to symbolize the resistance of the Palestinian people. He is a brilliant Marxist and advocate for socialism, who stands for liberation of every inch of Palestine. Sa’adat’s courage in the face of the Israel’s brutality shines as an example to everyone who yearns for a just world.

Today, there are nearly 6000 Palestinian prisoners locked in Zionist jails. Their ranks include men, women and children. They face torture and isolation and they have nothing wrong. It is not surprising that Ahmad Sa’adat has emerged as one of the key leaders of Palestinian’s behind bars.

The Israeli occupation of Palestine continues because of the backing it receives from U.S. The occupiers are rightfully hated throughout the Middle East. U.S. aid and military commitments function as Israel’s life-support system. It’s important to press the demand of “No U.S. Aid to Israel.”

Standing reality on its head, the U.S. government and its Israeli allies have tried to stick the ‘terrorist’ tag on Ahmad Sa’adat and the PFLP. Nothing could be further from the truth. Resistance to occupation and injustice is not terrorism; it’s the right of the oppressed and a necessity for liberation.

In an interview with Fight Back!, Ahmad Sa’adat correctly stated, “The American globalization of war established the conditions for its antithesis – globalizing the popular struggle.” All of us need to contribute to this globalized struggle for the emancipation of the exploited and oppressed.

The Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network and Campaign to Free Ahmad Sa’adat have called for an International Week of Actions for the Freedom of Ahmad Sa’adat this January 15-22. We urge all anti-war and international solidary activists to do what they can to support this effort.

As long as it continues to exist, Israel will be a prison for the Palestinian people. But the day of liberation is coming, and we can help bring it closer.

“We pay tribute to the martyrs who rose today, on Land Day, in the mass rallies for return that brought together hundreds of thousands of our people in the Gaza Strip. The March of Return is a popular referendum to uphold our rights and constants, especially the right of return, which can never be bargained for or traded,” said Comrade Jamil Mizher, member of the Political Bureau of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and leader of its branch in Gaza. “This march has thwarted all of the bets of the occupation on undermining the unity of the Palestinian people.”

Mizher made his comments as he participated with a large number of leaders, cadres and members of the Front on the eastern border of the Strip. “Our people and their action across the Gaza Strip today have opened a new stage with their blood and sacrifice, confirming their adherence to their full national rights, to resistance and intifada and confrontation of all forms of Zionist aggression, siege and liquidation projects like the ‘deal of the century.'”

He noted that the Great Return March does not end today but is a continuous program of activities that will escalate toward the anniversary of the Nakba on May 15. “Today, our people have demonstrated that they are alive, ready to sacrifice, united and capable of defeating all conspiracies against Palestinian rights and principles. This is a major event and requires all to prioritize the supreme national interest above all narrow, partisan considerations and rise to the level of sacrifice and greatness embodied by the Palestinian masses.”

Further, Mizher said that the Palestinian people were united today in confronting all of the schemes to deny their rights, including the “Deal of the Century,” the declaration of the transfer of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem and the targeting of refugee rights. The Marches of Return impose a new equation on the occupation and the international community and make clear that the Palestinian people will never abandon their rights and will determinedly confront all such attempts.

“The criminal attack by Zionist soldiers on Palestinians today in the March of Return is proof of the state of chaos that has persisted for many days and of their utter inability to break the will of resistance and steadfastness among the Palestinian people who gathered in their thousands today,” Mizher said.

“This unified national scene today reflects the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their attachment to their land, the land of their ancestors for generations. This is the true expression of the will of our people…confrontation of the occupation is the most effective means to restore national unity and rearrange the Palestinian house,” noted Mizher.

He concluded by saluting the Palestinian masses in the homeland and in exile, especially those in Occupied Palestine ’48, who today commemorated the anniversary of Land Day alongside their people in the Gaza Strip, confirming to the occupier that all Palestinians are united and firmly rooted in the land.

New York, NY – Around 50 people gathered on Dec. 11 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), at an event titled The Palestinian Revolutionary Left.

Organized by Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, the event featured a recorded address from Leila Khaled, member of the PFLP’s Political Bureau, and a live stream with Khaled Barakat, international coordinator of the Campaign to Free Ahmad Sa’adat. The speakers discussed the history of the PFLP, their ideology, and the importance of ongoing struggle against Israel, the U.S., and Arab reaction.

First, a recorded address by Leila Khaled played for the audience. In her speech, Khaled talked about the history and ideology of the PFLP. Regarding the PFLP’s ideology, Khaled said, “This is according to a vision, based on progressive thinking, in which I mean Marxism.” She stated that at the time of the PFLP’s formation, Marxism was new to the Palestinian people, but that it was a powerful tool for having an understanding of their enemies and conditions, leading to the success of their organization.

Next, Khaled Barakat spoke to the crowd via live stream. Barakat discussed the 1917 fight against the Balfour Declaration and British colonialism, as well as the Palestinian movement up to the present day. He stressed that for 100 years, the Palestinians have not given up their struggle. Barakat cited the recent defeat of ISIS in Syria and Iraq as examples of the weakening of the Zionist, imperialist camp.

Barakat stated, “Names could change from Balfour to Trump, after 100 years, but the representatives and the interests of this game is still the same.”

The event closed out with a questions and answer session with Barakat, including lively discussion about current events.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine announced the cancellation of its planned anniversary events, including the central festival scheduled for Gaza City on Saturday, and transforming those events into marches of anger to confront U.S. imperialism and Zionism following Trump’s declaration on Jerusalem

In a press conference on Thursday, the Front said that a march will begin on Saturday at 12 noon in Gaza under the slogan, “The revolution continues until return and the liberation of Jerusalem.” The march in Gaza City will be held simultaneously with a march in Ramallah organized by the PFLP.

The Front invited the Palestinian masses in all of their national and popular sectors to participate in these actions and noted that it considers December 11 to be a day of confrontation of the Zionist forces. It also emphasizes that the Palestinian people are entering a new stage of struggle to establish a national strategy in which all Palestinian movements are united to serve the objectives of our people through resistance and confrontation of the occupation in all locations.

The PFLP also emphasized that its march of anger and revolution will raise its voice against U.S. imperialism, Zionist colonialism and Arab reactionary collusion. It demanded the Palestinian Authority end its continued reliance on negotiations and end security coordination with the occupier.

It called on the Arab and Islamic nations and peoples and all supporters of justice in the world to take to the streets and squares to reject Trump’s declaration and to confront all forms of attack against the Palestinian and Arab people.

For its part, the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades emphasized that it is open to targeting U.S. interests, especially on Palestinian land, in response to this action. “We confirm that the U.S. imperialist enemy is not welcome on Palestinian land,” said a spokesperson for AAMB.

The AAMB spokesperson added that the rights of the Palestinian people to their land cannot be revoked by an American decision or an act of any state, and noted that the U.S. puts its interests on the land of Palestine in the eye of the target for Palestinian resistance and the Palestinian people.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine described the declaration of US President Donald Trump as a declaration of war against the Palestinian people and their rights that makes the U.S. position clear as a hostile entity toward our people and a partner of the Zionist state in its crimes against the Palestinian people and land, and it must be addressed on this basis.

Further, the Front considered that Trump also launched a “bullet of mercy” on the so-called two-state solution, the settlement project and the delusions of the peace process. It called upon the Palestinian leadership to learn the necessary lessons from the devastating experience of reliance on negotiations and U.S. domination and announce the immediate withdrawal from the Oslo agreement and all subsequent and attendant obligations.

The PFLP called on the Palestinian masses and their organizations to unite their efforts and respond collectively, practically and forcefully to this decision through action and escalation of the momentum of the popular movement.

The battle for Jerusalem is one for all of Palestine. For us, Jerusalem is Haifa, Safad, Yafa, Gaza, Ramallah and every village and city in Palestine.

Further, the Front emphasized the need to confront the triangle of conspiracy against Jerusalem and Palestine and the rights of the Palestinian and Arab people, that of imperialism, Zionism and Arab reactionary regimes, and to open the door to appropriate options to resist these schemes.

The Arab masses also clearly reject this decision, which clarifies further the nature of U.S. imperialism as the primary sponsor of Zionist terror in the region that constantly seeks to ignite the region in order to maintain its hegemony.

Jerusalem will always remain the capital of the Palestinian people and the State of Palestine and the imperialist-Zionist alliance will not succeed in its attempts to obliterate the city’s Arab identity and its status in the Arab and Islamic world.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine strongly condemned the action of the Italian authorities in denying entry to Comrade Leila Khaled, member of the Political Bureau of the Front, canceling her visa and forcing her to board the next plane to Amman. She was invited to Italy for a series of political events organized by the Arab Palestinian Democratic Union in Italy to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the launch of the PFLP.

The Front emphasized that this action followed upon a racist campaign waged by the Zionist movement and the forces of the fascist right wing in Europe over the past months against the Popular Front and the Palestinian and Lebanese Resistance. This action by the Italian authorities is part of this ongoing campaign, which will only be met with more insistence on transmitting the voice of our people to the world.

The Front further considers that the leading role of the struggler Leila Khaled and her revolutionary and symbolic role on a Palestinian, Arab and international level has enraged the Zionist state and its allies in Europe, pushing the forces of the Zionist movement to demand her arrest or deportation. They have failed to prevent her from giving public talks and appearances in Germany, Spain, Belgium, and elsewhere in Europe.

Further, the Front emphasized that this action on the part of the Italian authorities is a blatantly political decision in favor of the occupation state and racist Zionism. It does not reflect the position of the progressive, democratic forces in Italy or the values of the Italian people who reject war, racism, fascism and occupation.

The PFLP emphasized that it will, in cooperation with friends and supporters in Europe in general and in Italy in particular, continue to pursue the issue of the expulsion of Comrade Leila Khaled on political, media and legal levels.

The Front also praised all of the Italian and European voices, personalities, parties and organizations that expressed their condemnation of this unjust decision and their support for the rights of the Palestinian people and their just struggle for liberation, return and the establishment of an independent Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital.

The PFLP expressed its appreciation of the comrades in the Arab Palestinian Democratic Union for refusing to cancel the scheduled events honoring the launch of the Front despite the wave of incitement, pressure and Zionist provocations.

The Front urged all left-wing forces and supporters of Palestine in Italy to expand the campaign to boycott the Israeli occupation state and build campaigns of solidarity with the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights.

It saluted all of the efforts being made in this period against the Giro de Italia, an international cycling competition, demanding an end to the collaboration with the occupation state and that the launch of the route be removed from occupied Palestine, where it is scheduled to begin in May 2018.

In conclusion, the Front emphasized that the voice of the resistance, represented by the struggler Leila Khaled and all of the progressive and freedom-loving forces in the world, will not be silenced and will continue to pursue the occupation, its allies and supporters everywhere.

Comrade Jamil Mizher, member of the political bureau of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, strongly condemned the United States’ FBI’s inclusion of the name of the General Secretary of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, Dr. Ramadan Abdallah Shallah, on its “most-wanted list.”

“The United States of America is the head of evil and the center of terror in the world. Its leaders, officials and generals must be brought before international tribunals for the crimes they have committed against the world and humanity,” Mizher said, noting that “the U.S. government is the last that should speak about human rights and the fight against terror. Its history is full of massacres and the bloodshed of women, children and elders, and its crimes are notorious against the Palestinian people and the peoples of the region.”

He emphasized that the Front stands with Dr. Shallah and the brothers in the Islamic Jihad movement, saying that the Front and all of the resistance factions and every free national voice are together in the struggle.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine confirmed that the Zionist occupation forces launched a pre-dawn campaign of raids across the occupied West Bank of Palestine on Sunday, arresting a number of leaders and activists of the Front, led by the Palestinian Legislative Council member Khalida Jarrar, feminist activist Khitam Saafin and former prisoner Ihab Massoud, as well as a number of activists in al-Khalil. The Front declared that these attacks will not stop it from continuing its role in resistance to occupation and confronting the crimes and projects that attempt to liquidate the Palestinian cause.

The Front emphasized that these arrests only underline the futility of the choices of the Palestinian Authority to continue to bet on settlements, “peace process” and security coordination. It also confirms the correctness of the Front’s position and its continuing struggle to build the resistance and the primary contradiction with the occupation as a major feature of its approach and political positions.

The Front further stated that these arrests have come after the major campaign of incitement launched by the Zionist entity and its prime minister, the war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu, against the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and the resistance factions.

The PFLP urged the Palestinian masses to escalate the popular movement to support the struggle of the brave prisoners in Israeli jails, for Jarrar and Saafin and the prisoner Muhammad Allan, on hunger strike for 25 days.

The Front promised to continue to defend the rights and principles of the Palestinian people. Continued targeting by the occupation only emphasizes the importance of continuing the path to return and liberation.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine denounced the repeated Zionist attacks against the city of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque and collective punishment that has escalated over the last few days and hours, and the besieging of the village of Deir Abu Mashaal. Zionist forces have launched a campaign of attacks and arrests against the people of the village. These raids against the village will not extinguish the flame of resistance and will only intensify the determination of the Palestinian people to defend their rights, principles and holy sites.

The Front condemned the heavily armed forces of the Israeli police that stormed the courtyards of al-Aqsa Mosque, attacking worshippers and imposing closure on the Damascus Gate area. This military stranglehold is a retaliatory attack meant to divert attention from the clear failure of its military forces in preventing the heroic Jerusalem operation, which hit Zionist occupation forces in the holy city. These criminal practices reflect the essence of Zionist policy.

The Front denounced the prime minister of the Zionist enemy Netanyahu as a war criminal. His threats to take unprecedented action against the city of Jerusalem and the village of Deir Abu Mashaal and the orders to demolish the homes of the families of the strugglers who carried out the Jerusalem operation are empty baloons directed at the Zionist population after failing once more in Jerusalem and in an attempt to again cover up the corruption charges that have arisen once more. The demolition of homes and the policy of collective punishment by the occupation and its soldiers have never succeeded in smothering the spirit of resistance or breaking the popular support of the masses of our people. Instead, these attacks only fuel the flame of intifada and resistance.

The PFLP saluted the steadfastness of the Paletinian people in occupied Jerusalem and Deir Abu Mashaal village who continue to act to confront the crimes of the occupation. It called on the Palestinian masses to support their steadfastness by acting to break the siege on the city and the village, calling on all to turn any home demolitions into a battle with the enemy to prevent and stop this policy and expose it before the world. The aim of this policy is an attempt to break the will of the masses and weaken their embrace of resistance.

The Front also urged the Palestinian, Arab and international media to display the images of repression, abuse and closure on the steadfast village of Deir Abu Mashaal.

The Front warned the Zionist enemy that for every demolished home in Deir Abu Mashaal, Palestinian fighters will emerge from the rubble of these homes to respond to the crime as occurred in the courageous Promise of al-Buraq operation.

The PFLP emphasized its deepest greetings of pride for the families of the martyrs, their mothers in particular, for their steadfastness and national and human pride and strength.

June 5 marks 50 years since the defeat of 1967, which had among its most prominent results, the completion of the occupation of the rest of Palestine, as well as the Syrian Golan Heights and the Egyptian Sinai. This occasion deepened the concept of defeat and its implication in Arab thought and practice and has sparked numerous efforts and political settlement projects under the pretext of resolving the Arab-Zionist conflict.

The defeat of June 5 came to confirm the nature and essence of the Zionist project and its aspirations for expansion, hegemony and occupation of a central area of the Arab region. This occupation included the Zionist project and its colonial and imperialist partners and allies, with shared goals, interests and ambitions in the Arab world, including the plundering of its resources, ensuring its fragmentation and continued underdevelopment. It also highlighted the weakness of the overall Arab situation, intensifying the contradictions of that situation. Despite all of these factors, it also opened the door to the intensification and escalation of the Palestinian resistance movement and popular defiance in the face of colonial aggression.

This intensification and escalation of Palestinian people’s resistance and the Arab response have shown, along with the Zionist project and its objectives of expansion, that the comprehensive and historical conflict with the Zionist enemy as a struggle for existence is not only between the Palestinian people and this enemy alone, but in essence is a conflict between the Arab nation as a whole and the Zionist project which aims at the dependence, subordination and fragmentation of this nation and the Arab homeland and the continued plundering of its resources and wealth, ensuring the security and stability of the Israeli occupation and its continued technological superiority and progress.

To the Palestinian and Arab masses…

Despite 50 years after the defeat, we continue to suffer its effects very clearly. In terms of the Zionist project, we see the continued occupation of Palestine and other Arab lands, despite numerous international resolutions that do not recognize the occupation and calling for withdrawal. In practice, colonization on the ground has increased continually since that time. The leaders of the Zionist project have continued the terror and ethnic cleansing that began before 1948 against the Palestinian people and its armies and aircraft have continued their attacks on the Arab countries. Their support for reactionary and extremist forces seeks to add new burdens and costs to the Arab situation, which suffers from division, weakness and fragmentation of the national and social fabric. This comes in accordance with the open and secret wars that are hurting all with the continued erosion and exhaustion of the Arab body with violence and pressure in political, economic and military forms to impose almost complete complacency before the imperialist project. In light of the ongoing U.S.-Zionist attacks, colonialism and occupation, we in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine emphasize:

First, rejection of the political and military outcomes of the defeat of June and all of the desperate attempts to lead the Arab-Zionist struggle to the gateway of so-called “peaceful settlement solutions” that depend on recognition of the legitimacy of the Zionist entity and its existence, from Camp David through the Oslo Accords and Wadi Araba. We reject all attempts to normalize between Arab states and the Zionist enemy, part of an apparent attempt to erase the essential nature of the struggle. This is a confrontation between, on one side, the imperialist powers, the Zionist project and its tool “Israeli occupation,” and on the other, the entire Arab nation. This struggle is for the liberation of the entire land of Palestine and the return of its people who were displaced to the corners of the earth through systematic uprooting and ethnic cleansing, and for the liberation of the Arab people and control over their destiny, wealth and resources, on the road to the dismantling of the Zionist state, a state of occupation, aggression and permanent warfare against the Palestinian and Arab people.

Second, rejection of the so-called Arab-American-Islamic Summit in Riyadh and its results, which aim to distort the main contradiction in the region with the Zionist project and the Israeli state and shift the conflict to one with Iran through the formation of a so-called “Sunni”-Israeli-American alliance. This is an attempt to tailor Arab politics to the requirements of the imperialist and Zionist project and confirm the dominance of the Zionist state in the region. It also aims to target Arab and Palestinian resistance forces, which were described in this summit, in the words of US President Donald Trump as “terrorism.”

Third, confrontation of the results of this summit with the broadest official and popular Arab alliance, uniting all Arab progressive forces struggling for liberation and freedom from imperialism and Zionism in the region. This struggle requires activating the role of the Arab Progressive Front based on clear strategies and tactics and comprehensive planning.

Fourth, ending all Palestinian and Arab reliance on the path of so-called negotiations, which have proven through experience to be painful, damaging and a complete failure in achieving any Arab or Palestinian objectives. Any reliance on a positive role played by Trump confirms the continued cultivation of illusions and losing bets. This administration comes in continuation and intensification of the ongoing strategic policy of US administrations, designed to ensure the security, stability, progress and technical and military superiority of the Zionist occupation. Therefore, it will only strive to impose a political solution in conformity with a U.S./Israeli vision.

Our choice is that of the Palestinian people, resistance and struggle for national liberation and ending all forms of absurd negotiations with the Zionist enemy. This includes full commitment to the resolutions of the Palestinian Central Council and PLO Executive Committee, including the end of negotiations and security coordination with the occupation, on the road to a complete break with the Oslo agreement, its political and economic consequences and its disastrous impact on the Palestinian liberation struggle and our rights.

Fifth, prioritizing the Palestinian reconciliation file and undertaking hard work to end the division. This begins by ending all actions taken against the Gaza Strip and collective resolution of the issue of the administration committee and implementing reconciliation agreements. This also includes the rebuilding and restoration of Palestinian national institutions, particularly the Palestine Liberation Organization, on the basis of national and democratic foundations. It is not acceptable to deal with these institutions as a site of exclusivity, domination and monopoly, and instead it is critical to open the field widely for all forces, institutions and social strata to participate in the management of Palestinian national affairs.

Sixth, our salutes and appreciation to the brave prisoners and their struggle in the battle for freedom and dignity that they fought for 41 days of empty stomachs, confronting the occupation and its inhumane policies. We affirm our full and continued support for the prisoners’ struggle until freedom, liberation and the return of our people to their homes, lands and homeland.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, on behalf of its imprisoned General Secretary Ahmad Sa’adat and all of its prisoners in the occupation prisons and its cadres and members in Palestine and exile, saluted Oscar Lopez Rivera on his liberation after nearly 36 years in Israeli prisons.

The longtime struggler, comrade Lopez Rivera was arrested in 1980 for his involvement in the revolutionary independence movement of Puerto Rico, which is colonized until today by the United States. A U.S. court sentenced him to 55 years for “seditious conspiracy” for his political and revolutionary activities, to which another 15 years was later added over an alleged attempt to escape from prison.

In 1999, he was offered a significant sentence reduction by then-President Bill Clinton, conditioned on his agreement to “condemn violence” of all kinds, but he rejected this attempt and was dedicated to stand firmly by his political positions. Following a widespread popular campaign in Puerto Rico and the United States, Lopez Rivera received clemency from then-President Barack Obama before leaving office; he was then subject to house arrest for three months.

After his house arrest ended on May 17, he was welcomed by a mass rally in Chicago where he was greeted by the Puerto Rican community, the Palestinian community and a wide range of organizations, and was welcomed by former Palestinian prisoner, longtime struggler and community leader Rasmea Odeh.

The struggler Lopez Rivera continued to hold fast to his revolutionary positions and showed his solidarity with the Palestinian people and movement, including the Palestinian political prisoners currently on hunger strike.
