“We affirm our absolute rejection of the UN Security Council’s decision on the Gaza Strip, considering it an attempt to impose guardianship through the so-called “Peace Council,” which has been granted transitional and sovereign authorities that reproduce the occupation in a new form, sideline the Palestinian role, and strip the UN of its mandate.

The resolution ties the withdrawal of the occupation and the end of the war to the occupation’s own conditions, restricts reconstruction and aid according to its will, deepens the separation between the West Bank and Gaza, and targets UNRWA’s role and responsibility toward Palestinian refugees — the last remaining sign of international commitment to their cause.

Any framework that ignores national will or grants the occupation or the United States authority over Gaza’s future is neither binding on our people nor implementable. Gaza’s administration must be purely Palestinian, and any international force must operate under a clear UN mandate with the exclusive mission of protecting civilians, ensuring separation, and securing humanitarian corridors.

We reject the clauses related to disarmament and condemn labeling the resistance as terrorism, as this empties our people’s legitimate right to self-defense and transforms the international force from one of protection and separation into an offensive force that grants the occupation cover to continue its policies.

We warn that leaving the resolution without amendments or binding guarantees provides the occupation with cover to resume its aggression through new means. We call on mediators and guarantors to act urgently to prevent its exploitation and to stop any attempt to bypass our people’s rights to liberation and self-determination.

Our people, who have offered continuous sacrifices, will not accept any framework that infringes on their sovereignty and will continue their struggle until they secure full freedom on their land.”

The ceasefire agreement is a first step toward ending the genocide, and the steadfastness of our people and their valiant resistance broke the zionist war machine and imposed the agreement.

The achievement of a ceasefire agreement and the start of implementing its first phase is considered an important accomplishment and a first step on a long road toward ending the suffering of our people. The time has come for the genocide to stop. This is the fruit of the legendary steadfastness demonstrated by Gaza and our Palestinian people, the immense sacrifices of the martyrs, the wounded, and the prisoners, and the resilience of the valiant resistance that confronted the aggression until the last moment.

We extend a salute of pride and honor to our people in the homeland and the diaspora, and to our martyrs, wounded, prisoners, and missing persons, who embodied the finest examples of sacrifice and steadfastness. Our people have endured what no other people have endured, and despite the destruction, massacres, and starvation, the occupation failed to achieve its goals and reaped nothing but disappointment, shame, and isolation.

Since the start of the aggression until the moment the agreement was signed, the Front has continued its efforts without pause, coordinating with all Palestinian, Arab, and Islamic forces, in order to reach this moment when the zionist war machine stops. We highly value the efforts of the brothers in Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and all other Arab and Islamic countries, as well as the positions and actions of the free nations and peoples of the world who rejected the continuation of the massacres and sought to stop them, whose efforts contributed to reaching this agreement. We particularly appreciate Egypt's firm stance rejecting displacement and supporting the steadfastness of our people on their land.

The current agreement broke the zionist 'noes' and goals. It is the possible option under the current circumstances, and its success is linked to the occupation's commitment and clear American guarantees that prevent procrastination. Our goal now is to continue working to end the war of genocide definitively, achieve a comprehensive withdrawal from the Strip, break the siege, and end the suffering of our people.

We hail with revolutionary fervor the long-overdue release of Georges Ibrahim Abdallah, the indomitable Lebanese resistance fighter who, after 41 years of unjust imprisonment in the dungeons of the French state, walks free at last. His liberation is not a gift from the oppressors – it is a victory wrestled from the jaws of imperialist vengeance through decades of struggle, solidarity, and resistance.

A stalwart champion of the Palestinian cause, Abdallah engaged in the struggle as a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and the Lebanese Revolutionary Armed Factions (LRAF).

As confirmed by Al Akhbar, the Paris Court of Appeal finally concluded Abdallah’s legal ordeal on July 18, 2025, clearing the way for his release on July 25—more than four decades after the French state, in collusion with U.S. and Zionist interests, sought to bury him alive for his role in the anti-imperialist and Palestinian liberation struggle.

Georges Abdallah is not merely a former political prisoner—he is a living symbol of revolutionary resilience, unyielding patience, and principled commitment to the people’s right to freedom, democracy, dignity, and national independence. Despite being eligible for parole since 1999, Abdallah refused to renounce his convictions. He did not beg for mercy—he stood firm, proud, and uncompromising, even when the prison walls sought to crush his spirit.

These sites serve as arrest points and instruments for entrenching racist policies, marketed under a “humanitarian” veneer while actually forming part of the genocidal war and Holocaust being waged against our people. They come amid a continuing siege and extermination campaign that targets civilians—especially children, women, and the elderly—and function as one of the occupation’s displacement schemes.

The Front views these centers as components of an integrated political-military apparatus aimed at emptying the Strip of its inhabitants and separating them from their homes, camps, and cities through direct humanitarian pressure: blocking aid from reaching residential areas to force people to converge on specific, fully occupation-controlled points. These spots then become gateways for mass expulsion and detention, a soft-focus remake of Nazi concentration camps that Netanyahu is trying to replicate.

The Popular Front warns our people against falling into these disguised traps and urges the masses to exercise extreme caution and not be lured by any false “humanitarian” slogans issued by killers and their backers.

The Front also calls on international and human-rights organizations to investigate immediately the purpose and role of these centers, to end silent complicity in the occupation’s crimes, to expose this new tool in its dirty war, and to insist that the proper alternative remains the UN agencies operating in Gaza—foremost UNRWA—which possess the manpower, logistics, effectiveness, and legal mandate to handle aid delivery.

Atlanta, GA – On October 29, Hezbollah announced the election of Sheikh Naim Qassem as the party’s new secretary-general. Qassem is the successor to Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who was assassinated by Israeli forces in an airstrike last month.

In a public statement, Hezbollah’s leading body, the Shura Council, recognized that the election of Sheikh Qassem represents a reaffirmation of the group’s long-standing commitment to defending Lebanon’s national sovereignty and the cause of Palestinian liberation.

The announcement comes at a time when Hezbollah is leading the resistance to an ongoing U.S.-backed Israeli invasion of southern Lebanon. This invasion, which is intimately connected with the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people, aims to stamp out popular resistance to Zionism in the region and conquer neighboring territory as part of an insane “Greater Israel” scheme by the Netanyahu regime.

Last month, Hezbollah confirmed the assassination of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in an apocalyptic Israeli airstrike on Beirut’s southern suburb. Israeli forces, equipped with F-35 jets and 85 tons of explosive ordinance provided by the United States, bombed a neighborhood block and slaughtered dozens of civilian families in an attempt to eliminate Hezbollah’s leadership. Hezbollah mourned Nasrallah as a heroic martyr who led Lebanon’s resistance with unwavering courage and determination.

But neither the death of Nasrallah nor the barbaric Israeli pager attack days earlier, which killed and wounded hundreds, have dismantled the resistance movement. Hezbollah fighters and other national democratic forces have repelled attempts by Israeli troops to penetrate into southern Lebanon. Israel has experienced heavy losses, both in troops and equipment, with more than 70 dead and 600 injured, along “with the destruction of 28 Merkava tanks, four military bulldozers, an armored vehicle, and a troop carrier,” according to a field report summary released by Hezbollah. Equally significant, Israel has sustained serious losses at its own bases, military sites and barracks within its own border lines as a result of the Lebanese incursion. At each step, Israel’s would-be occupation forces are meeting fierce resistance by the people of Lebanon, making forward motion nearly impossible.

Qassem inheriting Nasrallah’s legacy

The legacy Sheikh Qassem inherits as Secretary-General of Hezbollah is profound. Under Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s leadership, Hezbollah grew from a national resistance movement in Lebanon into a major anti-imperialist force in the Middle East. They helped steer the liberation of southern Lebanon in 2000 and defeated Israel’s savage assault on the country in 2006. When the Syrian Arab Republic faced a sustained, U.S.-backed regime change campaign in the early 2010s, Hezbollah came to Syria’s aid, helping defeat imperialist-backed proxy militias as well as the right-wing Islamic State (IS) on the battlefield. In doing so, they strengthened the anti-imperialist camp of resistance in the Middle East.

By all accounts, Sheikh Qassem is expected to continue this tradition of principled anti-imperialism and international solidarity, specifically in continuing to support the Palestinian resistance to the ongoing Zionist genocide.

Who is Sheikh Naim Qassem?

Well-known within Hezbollah and Lebanon as a whole, Sheikh Naim Qassem played a significant role in the party’s founding and development. Born in 1953 to a Shi’a family in Beirut, Qassem has his roots in southern Lebanon's Iqlim al-Tuffah region, an area long associated with the resistance to the Israeli occupation that lasted nearly two decades.

Holding academic degrees in both chemistry and theology, he was involved in student politics at the Lebanese University and, later, political and cultural activism in Lebanon. After the 1982 Israeli invasion, he became part of Hezbollah’s founding circle and rose within the newly formed party’s ranks, serving as Deputy Secretary-General since 1991.

Qassem’s many writings on Hezbollah’s political and military strategy, as well as the party’s history, continue to guide the organization’s orientation as a resistance force. His most celebrated work, Hezbollah: The Story From Within, is still widely read by party members and others today.

The most significant takeaway of Sheik Qassem’s elevation is that it signals Hezbollah’s will to fight back, even in the face of the criminal imperialist-backed Zionist war on Lebanon. The party’s leadership announcement means continuity with the liberation theology of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, which cannot be bought or intimidated into submission. In 2011, Qassem famously told a reporter, “Billions of dollars have been offered to us to rebuild the deprived south Lebanon and in return to surrender our arms and stop the work of the resistance. But we told them we're not in need, and the resistance will go on regardless of the consequences.

Palestinian resistance offers support, congratulations

The Palestinian resistance has voiced support for Qassem’s elevation to leadership of Hezbollah. The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other groups have reiterated their support for Hezbollah and offered congratulations to Sheikh Qassem on his election.

The PFLP, an important Marxist-Leninist party in Palestine, called Qassem’s election a “remarkable succession process” that signals Hezbollah’s ability to overcome external challenges. They noted, “The election of Sheikh Naim Qassem reaffirms Hezbollah's strength, resilience, and ability to renew its leadership.” Selecting Qassem, the PFLP writes, “is a clear challenge to the occupation and a blow to the illusions of Israel and the U.S., which have repeatedly tried to weaken Hezbollah through assassinations and targeting its leadership.”

Hamas – an acronym meaning Islamic Resistance Movement – expressed its solidarity too, describing Sheikh Qassem’s election as evidence of Hezbollah’s resilience and praised the new Secretary-General as a “relentless fighter” for the liberation of Palestine.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) affirmed that the arrest of national activist comrade Abla Sa’adat, wife of the imprisoned Secretary-General and leader comrade Ahmad Sa’adat, constitutes a new zionist crime added to the long list of crimes committed by the occupation against our people.

The Front clarified that this arrest comes as part of a systematic policy targeting leaders of the national and women's movement, as well as their families, in a desperate attempt to deter them from continuing their struggle against the occupation.

The Front pointed out that targeting the activist Sa’adat, who has always suffered from the bitterness of imprisonment and who represents a symbol of steadfastness and struggle alongside her companion, comrade Abu Ghassan, the Secretary-General, and a group of activists, falls within a scheme aimed at targeting Palestinian leadership, particularly Palestinian women who have always been at the forefront of the national movement.

The Front emphasized that such crimes will not weaken the determination of our people nor affect the will of the fighters who continue their resistance despite all of the occupation’s failed attempts to break them. The Front added that this arrest highlights the criminal policies of the occupation towards Palestinian women, who are continuously subjected to abuse and imprisonment, as is happening with the activist comrade Khalida Jarrar, who remains in solitary confinement and is subjected to further abuse and repression. The Front noted that these crimes aim to undermine the role of women in the national movement.

Freedom Road Socialist Organization condemns the Israeli occupation for the abduction of Abla Sa’adat from her home in the West Bank. Abla Sa’adat is a steadfast opponent of apartheid Israel and the wife of Ahmad Sa’adat, the imprisoned General Secretary of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

As resistance has intensified, so has repression. Israel currently holds about 10,000 Palestinians in prison, many without charges or anything resembling due process. Israeli prisons are hellscapes where torture is routine and the murder of prisoners by their jailers is commonplace. Zionist newspapers quote Israeli politicians calling for mass executions of those being held, and yet have the nerve to boast of their “values and morality.”

The genocide of Palestinians has been going on for close to a year. More than 41,000 are confirmed dead and many more are unaccounted for. This crime against humanity is facilitated by the U.S., by Biden and Harris, who send the money and weapons to make it happen.

Last year, on October 7, the world witnessed Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, a bold move by the Palestinian resistance to strike a blow for liberation. Since then, the power and tenacity of the Palestinian liberation movement has inspired people around the world. It is a beacon of hope to oppressed people everywhere.

In the coming weeks, there will be many protests and events in solidarity with Palestine, demanding an end to U.S. aid to Israel and that institutions of higher education cut all ties with Israeli apartheid. Progressives and revolutionaries should go all-out in building these demonstrations. They are absolutely needed. Authorities may try to interfere and respond with repression—those who do should be viewed with contempt and met with defiance.

The prisoners of Palestine are heroes. They are behind bars because they dare to fight for freedom.

The martyrdom of the Turkish-American activist, Aisha Noor Ezgi, after being shot in the head by occupation forces near Mount Sbeih in the town of Beita, south of occupied Nablus, is yet another Zionist crime added to the occupation’s black record of targeting foreign activists in solidarity with our people.

This crime brings to mind a long series of crimes committed by the occupation against international solidarity activists, from the assassination of American activist Rachel Corrie and British activist Tom Hurndall in Rafah, to the attack on the “Mavi Marmara” ship breaking the siege, which led to the martyrdom of ten activists, among other continuous attacks and practices against those in solidarity.

The Popular Front clarifies that all discussions about U.S. efforts to pressure the occupation into agreeing to a ceasefire are merely a new maneuver and deception by the U.S. administration to cover up the aggression and ensure the continuation of the genocidal war against our people, especially in light of its ongoing false accusations against our people and their resistance, as well as its direct military support and armament of the occupation.

In light of this, the Front emphasizes the following regarding any new negotiation initiatives:

- The Front affirms that the resistance's commitment to responding to all mediator initiatives has been driven by a desire to alleviate suffering and stop the crimes and massacres of the occupation against our people. However, using these negotiations as a tool to cover up and sustain the genocidal war turns them into an instrument of war and aggression against our people.

- The Front stresses that what is required now from the mediators is the complete cessation of the occupation's crimes and its war against our people before any negotiations begin. These negotiations are used by the occupier as a cover for the massacres, and it is inconceivable to hold any negotiations while the occupation's crimes against our people in shelters, schools, displacement camps, and hospitals continue.

- These negotiations are meaningless as long as the government of aggression and war criminals has not given a clear and public approval to the proposal that was originally presented by them and adopted by U.S. President Joe Biden.

- The Front emphasizes that opening the door to new negotiations, or even discussing new or old terms from the war criminals in the occupation government, is categorically rejected. We will not put the necks of our people at the mercy of maneuvers and charades played by Benjamin Netanyahu and his government with American and international cover. What is needed is an executive plan to stop the aggression and an international decision that guarantees this plan.

- The Front reaffirms the unity of our people and their resistance in facing the occupier's aggression and its allies, as well as their maneuvers under the guise of negotiations, and has full confidence in the resistance's ability to defend the rights of our people and uphold their legitimate demands.

At a time when the genocide war against our unarmed Palestinian people in Gaza Strip continues, and the brutal zionist practices in Al-Quds and the West Bank, executed by the zionist occupation army in partnership, support, and complicity with the American administration and Western colonial countries, aligned with all the forces of evil and tyranny in the world, when the occupation army has been committing massacres and brutal crimes for over 200 days now, the likes of which human history has never witnessed before,

And at a time when all lovers of peace in the world stand by the Palestinian people in their just struggle to reclaim their usurped rights, the ugly face of zionist racism clearly appears.

While our students in American universities were looking forward to support and solidarity from the university administrations, which prioritized their interests, profits, and investments over noble human values, they have undertaken a number of punitive measures against students, faculty, and staff, threatening and extorting them for nothing but standing by the Palestinian people and supporting their just struggle for freedom and human dignity. These administrations prioritize their interests over Palestinian blood and human values and engage in hate speeches against Arabs and Muslims, canceling student organizations' licenses, deluding themselves that by doing so, they can suppress our students' struggle in the universities within the United States.

We in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, along with all our people, the honorable of our nation and the world, confirm our steadfast support for the struggle of the students youth movements, Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM) at universities such as Columbia, Rutgers, Yale, Stanford, among others. We call for enhancing the unity of students and their struggle to divest American universities from the zionist entity and cut all forms of relations with it.

As we highly appreciate the positions, movements, and struggles of our students in American universities, and call for the escalation of their struggle against aggressive policies, and the rejection of compliance with the policies biased in favor of the occupation, we also call for the strengthening of ranks and enhancing the unity of students. The Front considered these arrests, pursuits, and trials as a reward for the occupation for its crimes against the Strip, striking at the core of the overwhelming Arab popular situation that rejects aggression and normalization, and is angered by the official positions of these governments, some of which align with American and Western positions that support and partake in the aggression.
