PFLP salutes freed leader, Comrade Khalida Jarrar

The Popular Front for the Liberation salutes Comrade Khalida Jarrar on her liberation from the prisons of the occupation. She has achieved a victory over the Zionist jailer with will, steadfastness and defiance of the occupation, said the Front.

Jarrar, a legislator and lifelong struggler for the freedom of her people and the land of Palestine, was imprisoned in occupation prisons for the past 14 months since her arrest on April 1. She has been a leader inside prison and emerged from Jubara checkpoint calling for action to free Palestinian prisoners, saying that her joy at liberation was mixed with pain on leaving behind her fellow imprisoned women, including minor girls and the longest-serving woman prisoner, Lena Jarbouni.

The crowd awaiting her release chanted for Jarrar, for the prisoners, for the PFLP and for the freedom of Palestine. Imprisoned PFLP General Secretary Comrade Ahmad Sa’adat and the PFLP’s prison branch called for broad public participation in the struggle to free Palestinian prisoners and liberate Palestine.

In response to the Israeli occupation’s administrative detention order for six months against Palestinian leader and Palestinian Legislative Council member Khalida Jarrar, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine said that it is confident that this racist, fascist state and its attacks will in no way lessen or undermine the determination and resilience of the struggler Jarrar, nor will it lessen her ability to challenge and resist the occupier. She is an example of the great steadfastness of the Palestinian people, who do not stop resisting the occupation despite arrests or expulsions, as she did when she challenged and defeated the order expelling her to Jericho.

The Front urged a wider campaign of solidarity with Jarrar and urged all Palestinian official institutions to uphold their responsibilities to act urgently on political and diplomatic levels in order to release her.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine sharply condemned the participation of Palestinian figures in meetings and conferences in the Knesset, saying that such meetings are unacceptable normalization with the Zionist occupation state and pose a real threat to the Palestinian cause.

Comrade Khalida Jarrar, member of the Political Bureau of the PFLP said that “normalization in all its forms with the occupation is unacceptable, a strike against the Palestinian cause, and crosses all red lines,” calling for these meetings to be cancelled, saying they are totally rejected by Palestinians. It was announced that a so-called “two-state solution conference” will take place in the Knesset on Monday, July 8, promoting the Oslo “peace process” on behalf of the Israeli Labor Party and aligned Zionist forces.

Jarrar noted the planned participation in particular of Ashraf al-Ajrami and Khalil Shikaki, saying that these meetings with the occupation must be stopped and that Ajrami and Shikaki must decline these invitations to go to the Knesset. She also urged the Palestinian people to respond to such meetings and all forms of normalization with the occupation.
