The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine stated that the results of the Israeli election simply reflect the nature and structure of the racist, fascist Zionist society that produced these results and elected the Likud Party and its right-wing allies, who engaged in the most open and extreme anti-Palestinian attacks on our people and their rights throughout the campaign.

The growth of overt extremism and racism in the Zionist society and the climate of fascism is only fueled by the failure of Palestinian and Arab officialdom to confront the occupation state, as well as the international imperialist powers who provide cover for its crimes and rampant violations of international law and preserve its immunity and impunity from accountability or prosecution.

The Front emphasized that confronting Zionist extremism and responding to these elections requires a clear and decisive Palestinian policy that casts aside the illusions of reliance on futile negotiations, and instead builds a unified national strategy to confront the enemy and struggle for the full rights of our people, based on our strategic path of resistance to build on all achievements.

The Front demanded the immediate implementation of the Palestinian Central Council resolutions passed at its last session, to disengage with the occupation state and its officials, first and foremost, ending security coordination and rejecting the path of the Oslo Accords which have been so destructive for the Palestinian people, and to end the Palestinian internal division through a serious project of national unity based on a unified program and the rebuilding of the PLO through elected, democratic institutions embracing all Palestinian forces, and following up to seek prosecution of the leaders of the Zionist state in the International Criminal Court.

Comrade Mizher: War criminal Netanyahu allied with U.S. envoy Mitchell against Palestinian cause

Comrade Jamil Mizher, member of the Central Committee of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, denounced efforts by the U.S. administration to force Palestinians into direct negotiations while Israel continues its war crimes, settlements, siege and occupation unhindered. Comrade Mizher noted that the visit of U.S. envoy to the Middle East, George Mitchell, is aimed at pressuring Palestinians to accept direct negotiations with the occupation regime.

In an interview with Al-Alam television on July 18, 2010, Comrade Mizher said that the war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu, whose hands are stained with the blood of the children, women and elders of Palestine, should be unwelcome in every country and every international forum, saying that he should be arrested and brought before an international tribunal, and the occupation state represented by him and his fellow war criminals isolated, not welcomed into meetings in Arab capitals. Netanyahu traveled to Egypt and met there wth Mitchell. Comrade Mizher emphasized that the Arab people support Palestine and reject Netanyahu and the entire Zionist presence in the Arab world, and demanded that Arab states end relations and normalization with the occupation regime and its criminal leaders.

Comrade Mizher noted that these meetings only prove the U.S. government's strategic alliance with the occupation and make clear that no one should rely on U.S. promises or assurances. He stressed that a united Palestinian front, rejecting pressure, upholding national rights and ending the internal division, was necessary to confront such schemes to undermine the Palestinian cause and liquidate Palestinian rights.

He said that any attempt to raise the issue of the “two-state solution” is false, and only harms the rights of our people. He emphasized that the Front does not believe in this “solution” – it believes that the interim goal is to establish a Palestinian state in all of the West Bank and Gaza, with Jerusalem as its capital, while simultaneously implementing the full right of return of Palestinian refugees to their original homes and lands. He emphasized that the right of return is the bridge between this interim goal and the only real solution – of liberating all of Palestine and establishing one democratic Palestine.

Comrade Mizher said that rather than relying on the U.S., it is necessary to rely on the Palestinian people and their ability to resist steadfastly in all circumstances; he said that it is also urgent to end the course of so-called “negotiations” and instead rely on a national strategy that firmly upholds national principles and the Palestinian resistance.

He demanded that Arab countries act in the interests of the Arab people and reject these U.S. and Israeli attempts to force so-called direct negotiations, withdraw the Arab initiative, and support the Palestinian people against the crimes of the occupation.
